LEGACY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 31 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 6/9/2014 5:14 PM

In what will be the first of two straight weeks of Legacy Fighting Championships action comes to us in the form of Legacy FC 31. This card will be headlined by a middleweight title bout as William Bush defends against Alfonso Gonzales. There are three fights taking place on the preliminary card, which will feature some top MMA prospects in action.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division bout as Steven Rodriguez (2-2-0) battles Aaron Reeves (1-0-0). Rodriguez has won one of two fights under the Legacy FC banner, but his last fight was a loss to Kamarudeen Usman at Legacy FC 27. Reeves made his professional MMA debut at Legacy FC 27, defeating Julius Holmes by decision. Rodriguez is a lot better than his record would suggest and he will prove that when he defeats Reeves.

Up next is a middleweight division attraction as Trevin Giles (1-0-0) takes on Patrick “Bam Bam” Hutton (3-8-0). Giles made his professional MMA debut at Legacy FC 27, having defeated Angelus Raymond McFarlane by submission. Hutton will enter the fight riding a six fight losing streak and he has not won a bout in well over three years. Hutton may have an experience advantage, but he is not threat to Giles and Giles will stay undefeated in the end.

Headlining this portion of the card is a bantamweight division fight as Ricky Turcios (2-0-0) faces Adrian Yanez (1-0-0). Turcios has already competed under the Legacy FC banner, which was a win over Colin Wright at Legacy FC 21. Yanez made his professional MMA debut earlier this year, defeating Richard Delfin at Texas City Throwdown I. This fight is a great way to end the preliminary card, but it will be Turcios staying undefeated in the end.
