With another weekend of MMA action that will include three events, it is good to know that it is all kicking off with the Legacy Fighting Championships. The event is going to be headlined by a middleweight title bout as Bubba Bush defends the gold against Alfonso Gonzales. Also, UFC veteran Damacio Page competes and many top MMA prospects will be stepping into the cage.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division bout as Artenas “Machine Gun†Young (10-7-0) competes against Charlie “The American Bad Boy†Ontiveros (4-2-0). Young has won just one of three in most recent Legacy FC run, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Tim Means. Ontiveros has spent his entire career in the Legacy FC promotion and only one career fight has gone to a decision. This is a must win situation if either competitor is to become a threat in Legacy FC and it will be Ontiveros getting that much needed win.
A pair of featherweights will collide next as Eric Valdez (3-1-0) does battle against Alex “Bet On†Black (6-3-0). Valdez has won two of three fights under the Legacy FC banner, last defeating Agrimar Dos Santos at Legacy FC 25. Black will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he has not lost a bout in nearly three years. These are two of the better featherweights in Legacy FC right now, but it will be Black walking away with the victory.
The lightweight division will be featured next as Jared Chaffee (3-0-0) is in action against Justin “The Wolverine†Reiswerg (6-3-0). Chaffee is returning to competition after a two year absence, but he has already competed twice in Legacy FC. Reiswerg has won five of seven in his Legacy FC run, most notably defeating Rey Trujillo at Legacy FC V. Chaffee's lack of cage time is going to badly hurt him in this one as Reiswerg spoils his return to competition.
More welterweight action is happening next as Diego “Gaucho†Da Silva (5-2-0) battles Alex Morono (6-2-0). Da Silva will be making his Legacy FC debut in this fight and five of his seven fights have ended in the opening round. Morono has won four of his last five bouts and he is returning to Legacy FC after being away from the promotion for a year. This fight should be getting a lot more hype than it has been getting, but it will be Morono getting the win either way.
Up next is a flyweight division bout as “The Angel Of Death†Damacio Page (17-9-0) takes on Elias “Smash†Garcia (4-1-0). Page has won two of three since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Alex Caceres at UFC On Fuel TV IV. Garcia will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Henry Cejudo at Legacy FC 27. Page has seen a career resurgence since his UFC exit and that resurgence will continue as he defeats Garcia.
Headlining this card is a bout for the Legacy FC Middleweight Title as champion Bubba “The Fighting Texas Aggie†Bush (7-2-0) defends against Alfonso Gonzales (5-0-0). Bush will be making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against Rakim Cleveland at Legacy FC 28. Gonzales will be making his Legacy FC debut in this fight, but he is a longtime veteran of the Cage Sport promotion. Gonzales is a late addition for this fight and Bush will take advantage to make another successful title defense.
