The Bellator Fighting Championships has adopted new rules that will affect past, present and future tournament winners. The new rules state that any fighter who has won a past tournament will now be permanently eligible for title shots. The previous rules was that if a tournament winner lost his title bout, he would have to win another tournament to get a shot again. Although there is no formal rules set in stone about how the process will work, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said that each opportunity will be handled in a case by case basis.
