A pair of title bouts as Michelle Waterson defends the atomweight title against Yasuko Tamada and Stephanie Eggink faces Katja Kankaanpaa for the vacant strawweight title. Waterson will be making the first defense of her title, which she won be defeating Jessica Penne at Invicta FC V. Tamada will be making her Invicta FC debut and she is a longtime veteran of the Japanese MMA scene.
Eggink will be making her Invicta FC debut in this fight and she is the current Xtreme Fighting Championships Women's Strawweight Champion. Kankaanpaa has won just one of two fights under the Invicta FC banner, with that lone loss coming to future TUF 20 alumni Joanne Calderwood. Invicta FC VIII takes place on September 6th from the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri with Michelle Waterson and Yasuko Tamada headlining.
