UFC ON FOX 12 FIGHT PASS PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 7/23/2014 7:54 PM

Capping off another major weekend of MMA action will be the UFC's return to Fox with UFC On Fox 12. The event will be headlined by a welterweight title eliminator as Matt Brown will duke it out with Robbie Lawler. There are four fights on the UFC Fight Pass portion of the preliminary card, with top prospect Steven Siler taking part in the proceedings.

Kicking off the action is a women's strawweight division bout as Juliana “Ju Thai” De Lima Carneiro (6-1-0) competes against Joanna Jedrzejczyk (6-0-0). Carneiro will be making her UFC debut in this fight and she is a veteran of the Brasil Fight MMA promotion. Jedrzejczyk will also be making her UFC debut in this fight and she is coming off of a victory over UFC veteran Rosi Sexton. Jedrzejczyk is coming off of the biggest win of her career and she will use that momentum to defeat Carneiro in their respective debuts.

A pair of welterweights are set to collide next as Gilbert “Durinho” Burns (7-0-0) battles Andreas “Real Steel” Stahl (9-0-0). Burns will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has yet to have any of his pro MMA fights go past the opening round. Stahl will also be making his UFC debut in this fight and this will be his return to action after being away for nearly a full year. This fight is easily worthy of a higher position on the card, but it will be Burns getting the win either way.

Up next is a featherweight division affair as Noad “Neo” Lahat (7-1-0) takes on “Super” Steven Siler (23-12-0). Lahat is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Godofredo Pepey at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Henderson II. Siler will enter the bout riding a two fight losing streak and he has not won a bout in just about a full year. Siler was considered a top prospect before stumbling in the UFC, but he will return to form when he defeats Lahat.

Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Akbarh “El Caballero” Arreola (22-7-1) faces Tiago “Trator” Dos Santos E Silva (18-4-2-1NC). Arreola will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he has fought UFC veteran Ronys Torres and Mac Danzig. E Silva will also be making his UFC debut in this fight and he will be doing so while riding a nine fight winning streak. These are two of the more experienced fighters making their UFC debuts, but it will be Arreola leaving with a victory.
