A big light heavyweight division contest has been added to UFC 179 as Glover Teixeira battles Phil Davis. Teixeira will be competing for the first time since losing his title bout to UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones at UFC 172. Davis has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, most notably defeating Lyoto Machida at UFC 163. UFC 179 takes place on October 25th from the Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes headlining.
