CAGE WARRIORS 70 FACEBOOK PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 8/12/2014 7:56 PM

The first of what will be two Cage Warriors events in a lone week takes place this Saturday with Cage Warriors 70. This event will be headlined by a lightweight division attraction as Joseph Duffy faces Damien Lapilus. There are three fights on the Facebook portion of the preliminary card, with some top MMA prospects in action.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division attraction as Ryan Roddy (6-1-0) battles Louis Chapman (4-3-0). Roddy will be looking to build on the momentum of his first Cage Warriors win, which came over Fernando Gonzalez at Cage Warriors Fight Night IX. Chapman is returning to Cage Warriors after a four year absence, last competing at Cage Warriors 37 in a winning effort over Jay Gilbey. Chapman looks ready for his Cage Warriors return, but it will be a terrible return for him as Roddy defeats him to get his second promotional win.

Up next is a featherweight division affair as Tommy “The Ghost” McCafferty (5-0-0) takes on Dean “Wolverdean” Reilly (6-5-0). McCafferty will be making his Cage Warriors debut in this bout and he has only seen one career bout go past the opening round. Reilly has won two of three bouts under the Cage Warriors banner, but he has not competed in just over a year. McCafferty has been dominating foe's leading into his Cage Warriors debut and he will dominate Reilly to make a successful promotional debut.

Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division bout as Konrad Iwanowski (4-0-0) faces Peter Queally (3-1-0). Iwanowski has already competed twice under the Cage Warriors banner, last defeating Shane Gunfield at Cage Warriors 65. Queally is currently winless in Cage Warriors competition, having lost to Chris Boujard at Cage Warriors 63. This is an excellent way to cap off the preliminary card, but it will be Iwanowski staying undefeated in the end.
