RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE 17 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 8/20/2014 8:43 AM

Capping off a busy Friday Night of MMA action will be another loaded card from the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. This particular event will see a pair of new champions crowned in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions. There are four fights on the preliminary card, with two undefeated fighters looking to keep their perfect records intact.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division attraction as Bryce Logan (1-0-0) competes against Te Edwards (1-1-0). Logan made his professional MMA debut back at Max Fights 14, where he defeated Gabriel Cichos by submission. Edwards will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Raymond Pina at a World Fighting Federation event. Logan looked really good in his pro MMA debut and he will look good once again as he stays undefeated in the end.

A light heavyweight division bout is happening next as Devin Clark (0-0-0) battles Aaron Brown (0-0-0). Clark will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win four of five as an amateur. Brown will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he has no amateur experience to speak of. Clark has a lot more amateur experience when compared to Brown and that experience will help him get his first pro win.

Up next is a featherweight division affair as Devin “Tic Tac” Turner (2-1-0) takes on Clay Wimmer (1-0-0). Turner will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he does so while on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Wimmer made his professional MMA debut back at a Fight To Win MMA event, having defeated Shannon Patrick by submission. Turner is on his first winning streak of his pro MMA career and that streak will continue as he defeats Wimmer.

Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Doug Jenkins (8-7-0) faces Danny White (8-4-0). Jenkins has only won two of his last seven bouts, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran TJ O'Brien. White has won three of his last four fights heading into his RFA debut, with that lone loss coming to UFC veteran Jacob Volkmann. White is currently on the best run of his career thus far and that run will continue when he hands Jenkins another loss.
