Johnny Weaver was one of the most prominent names in Mid-Atlantic Wrestling for four decades. Finding great success as a wrestler, commentator, matchmaker and official with Jim Crockett Promotions, Mr. Weaver was a household name in the Carolinas during his long career. Every year since 2004, CWF Mid-Atlantic has honored Mr. Weaver as one of our region's top wrestling stars with the Weaver Cup Tournament.

Who will leave with their name engraved on the Weaver Cup trophy and a guaranteed shot at the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship?! This Saturday will see ATTITUDE VS. KING and EDSEL VS. ROYAL as the semi-finals and the two winners will come back later in the card to face off in the finals. Edsel is currently locked out of future title shots due to losing a stipulation match in June, while King famously took Royal to the limit in a 28:00+ war in March that many feel was the most grueling match of Royal's 560 day title reign. Attitude and Royal are both perennial rivals of Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Roy Wilkins and his manager Coach Gemini, so you've got to believe the best chance for ANY of the four to earn a future title shot is to survive finals night and win the tournament.

"DANGEROUS E" COREY EDSEL VS. ARIK ROYAL
Edsel cost Royal the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship back in July after Royal broke his record for longest title reign ever in February. Now 10 years after Edsel won the very first Weaver Cup Tournament they duke it out to see who goes to the finals!

The two winners will be back later in the night to fight it out to see who earns a guaranteed shot at the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship and their name will be engraved on the prestigious Weaver Cup trophy.

ROY WILKINS (C) VS. TREVOR LEE
After Wilkins used help from half a dozen people to steal the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship, he TRIED to make sure Royal wouldn't advance in the Weaver Cup tournament... but Wilkins accidentally knocked out Royal's opponent Trevor Lee, causing HIS elimination. They go 1 on 1 with the championship on the line this Saturday night as an enraged Trevor Lee aims for payback!
