LEGACY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 35 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 9/23/2014 11:30 AM

With four MMA events taking place this weekend, many MMA fans may have been overlooking Legacy Fighting Championships 35. That would be a true shame, especially with a main event featuring Myron Dennis battling Leonardo Leite. There are also a trio of fights on the unaired preliminary card, with a battle of the undefeated in the featured spot.

Kicking off the action is a women’s flyweight division bout as Erin McDougall (1-0-0) battles Nikki “Knuckles” Knudsen (2-2-0). McDougall made her professional MMA debut earlier this year at Xtreme Fighting League VIII, defeating Jaymee Jones by decision. Knudsen will be returning to action after a year absence, but her last fight was against recent UFC signee Holly Holm. Knudsen may have the poorer record when compared to McDougall, but she has fought far better opposition and that experience will carry her to a win.

Up next is a men’s flyweight division bout as Cody Fuller (10-8-0) takes on Micah “The Gremlin” Stockton (5-6-0). Fuller will enter the fight riding a three fight losing streak and he has not won a bout in almost two years. Stockton has won two of his last three bouts, which includes a win over Cody Fuller back at Xtreme Fight Night 14. Stockton pulled the upset the first time when he defeated Fuller, but history will not repeat itself as Fuller gets the win the second time around.

Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division bout as Justin Rader (2-0-0) faces Hector Arteaga (1-0-0). Rader has already competed twice in 2014 and he has yet to see any of his fights go to the judge’s scorecards. Arteaga made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at Battlegrounds MMA IV, defeating Dustin Freeman by submission. This fight is a great way to cap off the preliminary card, but it will be Rader remaining undefeated in the end.
