BELLATOR MMA AT MONSTER ENERGY CUP CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 10/17/2014 11:52 PM

In what may be considered a very rare thing for MMA, Bellator MMA will be putting on a three fight card at this weekend’s Monster Energy Cup event. The card will be headlined by a heavyweight division attraction as Dan Charles battles James Wilson. Also, there will be two other fights that will give four other MMA prospects a chance to shine at the racetrack.

Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division bout as Sean Cantor (1-1-0) battles Gustavo Lopez (2-1-0). Cantor has only competed once in the last two years, which was a loss to Bryson Hansen at the World Series Of Fighting IX. Lopez will be returning to action after a year-plus layoff and he is a veteran of the Cage Sport promotion. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this one and it will be Lopez getting that much needed victory.

Up next is a lightweight division affair as Adrian “The Eagle” Hadribaej (2-0-0) takes on AJ “Black Dynamite” Williams (1-0-0). Hadribaej has already competed once in Bellator MMA, having defeated Michael Hamida at Bellator 124. Williams made his professional MMA debut back at the World Series Of Fight X, defeating Tanner Cowan by knockout. This is a great fight that will sadly go unnoticed on this card, but it will be Hadribaej staying undefeated in the end.

Headlining this card is a heavyweight division bout as Dan “The Man” Charles (8-2-0) faces James “The Beast” Wilson (3-1-0). Charles has only won just one of his last three, with that lone win coming over Stuart Austin at Bellator 126. Wilson will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Carl Culpepper at King Of The Cage: Beaten Path. Charles pulled the upset t Bellator 126 as he defeats Austin and he will ride that momentum to hand Wilson another defeat.
