ECWA K-Cup: Chasing the Gold
The ECWA Tag Team Championships are etched into the history of independent wrestling… teams like the Logan Brothers, The S.A.T, and even Daniel Bryan and Low Ki have all held the titles for extended periods of time. It’s been fought over for years… friendships have ended over them… and now it’s time to write a new chapter for them. When Team CK decided to leave the ECWA unexpectedly they left the championships vacant. The months have gone by and no news was heard about crowning new champions.
Then ECWA booker/matchmaker Joe Zanolle had a brilliant idea. Hold the famed K-Cup Tag Team Tournament and the victor will not only become the third winners of the K-Cup but the NEW ECWA Tag Team Champions as well.
And tag teams have lined up for their chance at glory.
The Flying Graysons, Black Wall$treet, The Payne Brothers, Kid USA & Kid America, Bloodbound Warriors, Breaker Morant & Chris Wylde, Mark Harro & Kao Storm, and the Dynamos all were carefully selected by ECWA management as fun, exciting options to chase the gold.
The decision was made to hold the tournament slowly over the course of a few months to be fair to all teams so no injuries or fatigue would play a factor.
The first half of Quarter Finals action already took place at the Toys for Tots 3 event held on December 6, 2014. Here’s a brief summary of the results:
Black Wall$treet defeated the Flying Graysons
Payne Brothers defeated Kid USA & Kid America
The action was fast, furious and all 4 teams fought to the bitter end in pursuit of the ECWA Tag Team Championships. The other Quarter Finals matches are as follows:
Bloodbound Warriors vs. the Dynamos
Breaker Morant & Chris Wylde vs. Mark Harro & Kao Storm
Which one of these tag teams will take the glory for themselves? Surely, whoever stands tall at the end of this brutal tournament will have a line of challengers just waiting… champing at the bit to place their names alongside some of the most legendary men in independent wrestling history. It will be trying… it will be awe inspiring… but most certainly for the victor comes the spoils.
The ECWA Tag Team Championships and the K-Cup trophy await the two most superior men in this tournament…. Events like this are why the ECWA is the premier place to witness independent wrestling and history in the making!
What team will reign supreme and usher in a new era in ECWA tag team wrestling?
