Professional wrestling to be held in Ashton for the first time in 5 years, but this time it’s personal.
Midwestern Wrestling Alliance a company founded in 2005 whose home base is out of Nebraska that has run shows in: NE, CO, IA, IL, MO, KY, WY, & SD. has kicked off their 2015 tour across the Midwest. The next stop is Ashton Illinois. Ashton has hosted pro wrestling events in the past, but on Saturday night, February 28th, 2015 it gets personal as MWA will be hosting a benefit for Matt Heng an Ashton – Franklin center high school senior who was just recently diagnosed with brain cancer. The event will be held where wrestling was held in the past at The Mills & Petrie Memorial Gymnasium – 704 N. 1st. St. Ashton IL. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to Matt & his family as well as the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle and the silent auctions. The Ashton Lions Club will be serving concessions with proceeds to benefit Ashton Lions. There will be 7 matches total at “Headlocks For Heng” for this great night of action for a great cause including a MWA Heavyweight Championship Match as Cody Jones will challenge Brian Blade for the championship. Levi McDaniels will also defend his newly won MWA Mid-States Championship against Tommy Snow. The MWA Tag Team Championships will be on the line when the Champions Generation Concept will defend against a Shane Foster & Con Artiest. The show will also feature The Patriot, JB Payne, The Low Riders From Hell, Star Venus & Many More. Doors open at 6:30 P.M. Bell Time is 7:00 P.M. Tickets are $10 for Front Row in advance & $12 at the door. General Admission tickets are just $10. Kids (Under 12), Seniors, Veterans & Active Service (with military ID) tickets are just $5.
