The UFC Welterweight Championship will be defended at UFC 189 as champion Robbie Lawler defends against Rory MacDonald. Lawler will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Johny Hendricks at UFC 181. MacDonald was originally set to face Hector Lombard at UFC 185, but Lombard was pulled after a failed drug test and MacDonald now gets the title opportunity. UFC 189 takes place on July 11th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor headlining.
