This coming May’s UFC 187 card will be headlined by a pair of title bouts as UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones defends against Anthony Johnson and UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman defends against Vitor Belfort. Jones will be making the ninth defense of his championship, last defending it against Daniel Cormier at UFC 182. Johnson is currently undefeated in his second UFC run, last defeating Alexander Gustafsson at UFC On Fox 14.
Weidman will be making the third defense of his championship, last defending it against Lyoto Machida at UFC 175. Belfort will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, but he will be returning to action after a year-plus layoff. UFC 187 takes place on May 23rd from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Johnson headlining.
