INVICTA FC 11 PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS

By David Tees on 2/26/2015 10:39 AM

While the highlight of women’s MMA this weekend will be the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title bout between Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano, the action for female MMA fans will actually kick off on Friday Night with Invicta FC 11. The event will be headlined by Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane Justino defending against Charmaine Tweet. Also, Japanese MMA stalwart Mizuki Inoue faces Alexa Grasso and four other top female MMA prospects are in action.

Main Card

Main Event

Invicta FC Featherweight Title Fight

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino (12-1-0-1NC) (Champion) vs. Charmaine “No So Sweet” Tweet (6-4-0)

Justino will be making the first defense of her championship, which she won by defeating Marloes Coenen at Invicta FC VI. Tweet will be returning to featherweight after a one fight stint at lightweight, where she defeated Veronica Rothenhausler at Invicta FC VIII. Justino has not competed in an MMA fight in well over a year, but she stayed active in combat sports by competing in a Muay Thai fight for the Lion Fights promotion. Tweet has already fought the person that Justino wants to fight, Ronda Rousey, who submitted Tweet via arm bar at School Of Hard Knocks MMA 12 in 2011. Justino is coming off of an ankle injury, but that should not stop her from bulldozing Tweet to get a first round TKO.

Co-Main Event

Invicta FC Strawweight Division Fight

Alexa Grasso (6-0-0) vs. Mizuki Inoue (8-3-0)

Grasso has already competed twice under the Invicta FC banner, defeating both Alida Gray and Ashley Cummins. Inoue has won just one of two under the Invicta FC banner, defeating UFC veteran Bec Rawlings and suffering a defeat to Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Grasso started off her professional MMA career in impressive fashion, winning her first three fights in a total time of just over one minute. Prior to competing twice in Invicta FC, Inoue competed exclusively in Japan, in such promotions as DEEP and Jewels. Inoue struggles terribly when she cannot get the fight to the ground, Grasso will use her striking to keep Inoue at bay and get the decision.

Invicta FC Strawweight Division Fight

DeAnna “The Argentine Assassin” Bennett (6-0-0) vs. Norma Rueda Center (3-1-0)

Bennett has already won two bouts under the Invicta FC banner and she holds a victory over UFC veteran Julianna Pena. Center is currently winless under the Invicta FC banner, having dropped a bout to UFC veteran Joanne Calderwood at Invicta FC VI. Bennett is one of the better strikers in the strawweight division and she finishes the late replacement with strikes in the second round.

Invicta FC Bantamweight Division Fight

Irene “Robles” Aldana (4-1-0) vs. Colleen “Thoroughbred” Schneider (6-5-0)

Aldana is currently undefeated thus far in Invicta FC competition, having defeated UFC veteran Peggy Morgan at Invicta FC VIII. Schneider will be making her Invicta FC debut in this fight, but she is the current Super Fight League Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Aldana displayed great striking against the much taller Morgan in her Invicta FC debut, the same scenario will play out again as Aldana defeats Schneider.
