WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING 21 PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS

By David Tees on 6/3/2015 1:08 PM

Kicking off a weekend of MMA action that will feature three big events will be a stacked World Series Of Fighting 21 card. The event will be headlined by a pair of title bouts as Lance Palmer defends the featherweight title and Smealinho Rama defends the heavyweight title. Also, some of the best Canadian MMA prospects will be entering the WSOF cage on the main card as well.

Main Card

Main Event

WSOF Featherweight Title Fight

Lance “The Party” Palmer (9-1-0) (Champion) vs. “The Polish Hammer” Chris Horodecki (21-5-1-1NC)

Palmer will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Rick Glenn at the WSOF 16. Horodecki is currently undefeated under the WSOF banner, having defeated Luis Huete at the WSOF 14. Palmer has only suffered one defeat as a pro, which came to former WSOF Featherweight Champion Georgi Karakhanyan at the WSOF VII. Horodecki is coming off of a pair of runs in Bellator MMA, winning just one of four fights in the promotion. Horodecki has a lot of MMA mileage on his despite such a young age, Palmer catches him with a guillotine choke in the second to hold onto his belt.

Co-Main Event

WSOF Heavyweight Title Fight

Smealinho “The Prince” Rama (9-1-0) (Champion) vs. Blagoi Ivanov (11-1-0-1NC)

Rama will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Derrick Mehmen at the WSOF 14. Ivanov will be making his WSOF debut in this fight, but he did win four of five fights under the Bellator MMA banner. Rama does enter the fight on a three fight winning streak and his lone loss as a pro came to UFC veteran Anthony Hamilton. Ivanov will be returning to action after a year layoff, but he did defeat the legendary Fedor Emelianenko in a 2008 World Sambo Tournament. Ivanov is one of the true inspirational stories in all of MMA, but Rama is light years ahead of him in the striking department and that skill will get him a first round finish.

WSOF Welterweight Division Fight

Mark “Sweet Dreams” Drummond (7-2-0) vs. Michael “The Messenger” Hill (7-3-0)

Drummond has won one of two fights under the WSOF banner, with that lone win coming over Spencer Jebb at the WSOF 18. Hill is currently undefeated in WSOF competition, but he is coming off of a loss to UFC veteran Bristol Murande at XFFC MMA VI. Drummond is a bell all-around fighter when compared to Hill, Drummond mixes it up well in the cage to earn a decision win.

WSOF Featherweight Division Fight

“Mean” Hakeem Dawodu (4-0-0) vs. Chuka “The Lion King” Willis (4-0-0)

Dawodu has spent his entire career as a pro in the WSOF, last defeating Tristan Johnson by TKO at the WSOF 18. Willis will be making his WSOF debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Kansas City Fighting promotion. Dawodu is somebody that the WSOF has high hope for as a future star, Dawodu gets a first round TKO finish to stay undefeated.
