BELLATOR MMA “UNFINISHED BUSINESS” PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS

By David Tees on 6/18/2015 3:05 PM

The highly anticipated bout that we MMA fans have supposedly been waiting eight years to happen finally happens this Friday Night. That is because MMA legend Ken Shamrock will be fighting legendary street fighter Kimbo Slice in the main event of Bellator MMA “Unfinished Business.” Also, Patricio Freire defends the featherweight title against Daniel Weichel and former TNA/WWE Champion Bobby Lashley returns to action.

Main Card

Main Event

Bellator MMA Heavyweight Division Fight

Kimbo Slice (4-2-0) vs. “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” Ken Shamrock (28-15-2)

Slice will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he will also be returning to action for the first time in over five years. Shamrock will also be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he has only won just two of his last nine fights. Slice did defeat two UFC veterans in his four professional MMA wins, those veterans he defeated were Tank Abbott and Houston Alexander. Shamrock’s last win came a little under five years ago, which came over Jonathan Ivey at USA MMA: Return Of The Champions. This may be the saddest main event in all of MMA right now, Shamrock takes down Slice and submits him quickly in the first.

Co-Main Event

Bellator MMA Featherweight Title Fight

Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (23-2-0) (Champion) vs. Daniel “The Weasel” Weichel (35-8-0)

Freire will be making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against Daniel Straus at Bellator 132. Weichel is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA, which includes a win over former Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion Pat Curran. Freire enters the fight riding a six fight winning streak, which includes a win over UFC veteran Diego Nunes. Weichel has not suffered a defeat in over three years, which came to Musa Khamanaev at M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Rizzo. Weichel’s best chance at victory comes down to whether or not he can get Freire down, which he will fail to do as Freire out strikes him on route to a decision.

Bellator MMA Heavyweight Division Fight

Bobby “The Dominator” Lashley (12-2-0) vs. Dan “The Man” Charles (9-2-0)

Lashley is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition and he is a former TNA/WWE World Champion in professional wrestling as well. Charles has won two of three fights under the Bellator MMA banner and he enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak. Charles would have had a better shot if he had more preparation time, Lashley ground and pounds Charles for a quick finish.

Bellator MMA Featherweight Division Fight

Henry Corrales (12-0-0) vs. Daniel Straus (22-6-0-1NC)

Corrales will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he is a former King Of The Cage Featherweight Champion. Straus will be competing for the first time since losing to Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion Patricio Freire at Bellator 132. Straus has one of the better ground games in Bellator MMA, he grinds out a decision victory in this one.

Bellator MMA Lightweight Division Fight

Derek “The Stallion” Campos (15-4-0) vs. Michael Chandler (12-3-0)

Campos has won four of five under the Bellator MMA banner, which includes a win over UFC veteran Estevan Payan. Chandler enters the fight riding a three fight losing streak, with all of those losses coming in Bellator MMA Lightweight Title fights. Chandler is a far better fighter than his three losses in a row suggest, Chandler pounds out Campos for a first round finish.
