By Andre Whitehead on 8/2/2015 3:12 PM

Throwback Championship Wrestling/East Tennessee Wrestling Presents: "This Means War"

Two promotions collide at the Bon Street Arena in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Opening festivities included a very nice tribute to another of our beloved icons Rowdy Roddy Piper, may he Rest in Peace.

Match #1
ETW Woman's Champion Jessie Belle Smothers w/The Bad Boys Shane Andrews and Nicolas Escobar Taylor vs. Amazing Maria for the title.
Interruptions galore to start the match but once settled the pace was solid as the ladies fought hard with Maria almost scoring several three counts only to be thwarted by the Bad Boys antics. Another near fall by Maria is countered by Smothers as she gets the roll-up for the win and keeps her ETW Crown.
Winner: Jessie Belle Smothers

Match #2
Fans War Match
Company promotion with two eager and dedicated fan groups choosing teams with the winner getting to be commissioner for the next show. The "Mullet Club" vs. the Brady Battalion featured majority of the ETW roster. In the end the aforementioned Nicolas Escobar Taylor turns on his teammate and fan favorite Aiden Brady allowing big Brandon Christopher to get the pin for the Mullet Club.
Winner: Brandon Christopher (Mullet Club)

Match #3
Cadillac Cowboy vs. ETW Heavyweight Champion Andrew "The Benchmark" Boyd for the ETW strap.
A very solid match with Cadillac using all his trademark moves and gimmicks while The Benchmark took the punishment before converting a late overzealous mistake from the Cowboys into a nice roll-up and victory retaining the ETW title.
Winner: "The Benchmark" Andrew Boyd

Match #4
Throwback Championship Wrestling (TV Taping)
"My Everybody Knows" Shawn Shultz current NWA Television Champion putting the belt on the line against "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews w/ Nicolas Escobar Taylor and Jessie Belle Smothers.
Feeling each other out the action started slow but picked up as both mat generals showed serious technical skills. Near fall after near fall was the body of the match with Shultz executing an excellent DDT. The count got to two before Taylor pulled the referee off the ailing Andrews causing a DQ with Shultz retaining the title. Temper flared among the Bad Boys as the attempted save was deemed unnecessary by Smothers and Andrews.
Winner: Shawn Shultz (NWA Television Champion)

Match #5
Throwback Championship Wrestling vs. ETW Wrestling
Super Destroyer vs. Hairband
Giant squash as Super Destroyer ended the short match with a pile driver for the victory.
Winner: Super Destroyer

Match #6
Throwback Championship Wrestling
The Tate Twins (Dalton Castle's Minions) vs. The Sensations (The Caucasian Sensation and the Haitian Sensation)
Flamboyant ring entrance from the Sensations who saturated the crowd with Mardi Gras beads. Several high spots with some good tag team principles by both teams. Several near falls and timely saves. Tate Twins pull the old twin magic and get the roll-up for the win with some serious pulling of the tights.
Winner" Tate Twins

Match #7
Throwback Championship Wrestling
"Tokyo Monster" Kahagas vs. Scott Cardinal
Excellent match with several great exchanges. Kahagas with a modified Tajiri spider was particularly impressive and the power of the 6'5 292 pound Cardinal was obvious. Cardinal continued his power assault and appeared to have the upper hand before a quick and tough clothesline to the jaw ended in a three count victory of Kahagas.
Winner: Kahagas

Match #8
Throwback Championship Wrestling Title Match
Former TNA Superstar Crimson vs. Former WWE Developmental Superstar Devin Driscoll for the Throwback Championship Wrestling Title.
Two big guys begin with the obvious feats of strength ring rocking collisions getting the crowd into the action. Driscoll is superb with his right hand and the two behemoths pound each other from post to post. Crimson employs the power bomb for a near fall before another jewel of right hand followed by a short clothesline from Driscoll almost again gets the job done. Driscoll and Crimson throw haymakers before a slick come from behind RKO from Driscoll stuns the Crimson one and the ref counts 1-2-3 for the win making Driscoll the new Throwback Wrestling Champion.
Winner: Devin Driscoll (New Throwback Wrestling Champion)

Dedicated crowd of around 200+ in a non-air conditioned and cramped facility. Great action and good work from the competitors.
