By David Tees on 8/20/2015 9:54 PM

Prior to a rare Sunday Night event from the UFC, MMA fans will be treated to another top notch card from the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. The event will be headlined by a bout for the vacant featherweight title as Raoni Barcelos faces Ricky Musgrave. There is also a “USA vs. Brazil” three fight challenge for the event, with three fights on the card to determine which country is best.

Main Card

Main Event

RFA Featherweight Title Decision Fight

Raoni Barcelos (8-1-0) vs. Ricky “The Spazmanian Devil” Musgrave (14-4-0)

Barcelos has won two of three fights under the RFA banner, last defeating Jamal Parks by knockout at RFA 23. Musgrave is currently undefeated in RFA competition, having defeated UFC veteran Alvin Robinson at RFA 22. Barcelos has primarily competed in his home country of Brazil and he is a four fight veteran of the Shooto Brazil promotion. Musgrave has also had a pair of fights and victories in Bellator MMA, with both of them being first round finishes. Musgrave looks like a fighter who is ready to take the next step to the bigger levels of MMA and he does so as he pounds out Barcelos with a second round TKO to claim the gold.

Co-Main Event

RFA Welterweight Division Fight

USA vs. Brazil Series Fight #3

Ackson “Tank Russo” Junior (5-0-0) (Brazil) vs. Jordon Larson (6-1-0) (USA)

Junior will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Rio Fight Championships promotion. Larson is currently undefeated under the RFA banner, last defeating Jarrod L’Heureux by TKO at RFA 25. Junior has yet to see any of his five professional MMA bouts go to the judge’s scorecards, with four of those wins coming in the first round. Larson has also represented the USA before in a Minnesota (USA) vs. Japan series for the Cage Fighting Extreme promotion. Junior is a wizard with his ground game, it will not take him long to ground Larson before scoring another first round submission.

RFA Bantamweight Division Fight

USA vs. Brazil Series Fight #2

Leandro “Pitbull” Higo (13-2-0) (Brazil) vs. Terrion “Flash” Ware (13-4-0) (USA)

Higo will be making his RFA debut in this fight, but he has already fought UFC veterans Iliarde Santos and Marcos Vinicius. Ware will be competing for the first time since losing a title fight to Luke Sanders at RFA vs. Legacy FC this past May. This one could easily be the fight of the night, but it will be Ware constantly grounding Higo to earn a decision victory.

RFA Bantamweight Division Fight

USA vs. Brazil Series Fight #1

Pedro Falcao (6-1-0) (Brazil) vs. Joey “The Beast” Miolla (4-1-0) (USA)

Falcao will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Missael Silva De Souz at International Xtreme Fighting Championships X. Miolla will also be making his RFA debut in this fight and he will be returning to action after a year-plus layoff. Miolla’s best shot is to keep the fight standing, but Falcao will eventually take him down on route to a second round submission win.

RFA Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Devin Clark (4-0-0) vs. Dervin “The Pioneer” Lopez (7-2-0)

Clark has already won two bouts under the RFA banner, defeating both Jaquis Williams and Aaron Brown. Lopez will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he will be returning to action after a year-plus absence from the sport. Lopez seems to be the more well-rounded fighter when compared to Clark, Lopez ends the undefeated streak of Clark with a decision win.

RFA Bantamweight Division Fight

Kevin Clark (4-1-0) vs. Matthew Lopez (5-0-0)

Clark will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he will be doing so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Lopez has already earned two victories under the RFA banner and four of his five professional MMA victories have been first round finishes. Lopez has been looking unstoppable since turning pro in May 2013, he quickly overwhelms Clark with strikes for another first round finish.
