8/31 TCW/ETW RESULTS

By Andre Whitehead on 9/5/2015 11:51 AM

The Bon Street Arena in Lenoir City, Tennessee played host to dual promotions as Throwback Championship Wrestling (TCW) opened with the television portion of the show followed by East Tennessee Wrestling (ETW) closing out the festivities. Lets go to the action.

Match #1
The "Doomsday Goliath" Scott Cardinal taking on the "Nature Boy" Paul Lee got the ball rolling. Cardinal was the aggressor against this sad version of the Nature Boy yet was caught of guard by his version of the Figure Four when the "Tokyo Monster" Kahagas tossed in a foreign object that Cardinal gleefully used to capture the win.
Winner; Scott Cardinal

Before the second match the crowd was treated to the introduction of former Smackdown General Manager and the new commissioner of TCW....Mr. Teddy Long.

Match #2
One of the best matches on the card as Lio Rush from Maryland Championship Wrestling welcomed WWE Tough Enough finalist Patrick Clark to Bon Street. Athletic moves and stunning aerial tactics for both competitors highlighted a very nice match. Several 2-counts before a very nicely executes frog splash from Rush captured the pin. Clark remained in the ring to cut the heel promo on the unworthy fans in his presence. Nice mic work.
Winner: Lio Rush

Match #3
The Dixon Line (Ken Dixon and Joe Keys) also representing Maryland Championship Wrestling take on the Young Lions in a tag team match. The Lions are a lively duo that brings the energy to the crowd. Nice tag team work throughout with the Lions getting a double RKO for the victory.
Winner: Young Lions

Match #4
The final television match was for the TCW Knoxville Unified Heavyweight Title featuring former two-time WWE tag team champion the "Iron Man" Rob Conway battling former WWE Developmental talent and current champion Devin Driscoll. Crisp chain wrestling with impactful strong style tactics derived from Driscoll's extensive athletic background and Conway's library of work in New Japan. Two of the best with their right hands, Conway and Driscoll exchange strikes before Conway drops the elbow for a two-count. Driscoll comes back with several haymakers, power bombs and a short clothesline that also brings a two-count. Driscoll brings the pain with his finishing move the "Name Maker" , a big boy version of the RKO, but with the impact Conway and Driscoll both roll out of the ring for a double count out.

Hold up player!! New commissioner Teddy Long makes his first executive decision and adds five more minutes to the match. The combatants lock up  before they are interrupted by Scott Cardinal and Tommy Coffey along with Kahagas who make an example of the duo and leave them laying in the squared circle. Driscoll retains with the interference. Great match with two seasoned competitors who brought the fight to the ring.
Winner: Devin Driscoll

Match #5
Our first ETW contest featuring matches contrived by commissioner for the day Ron Jovi. Hairband and the Wolfman Doc Johnson take on Tristan Ramsey and partner.
Winner: Hairband and Wolfman

Match #6
ETW Gender Nuetral Match featuring the Bad Boys (Shane Andrews and Nicolas Escobar Taylor) and the lovely Jessie Belle Smothers against the "Mullet Club" Tommy Coffey, Rick Savage and Sara Dox. The Bad Boys had complete control of the match using their intellect to keep the lady, Sara Dox in the ring for majority of the contest, good ring work from Smothers who is a solid technician. Great work by Andrews who is a seasoned professional, executing the super kick for the pin of Savage and the victory. Andrews cuts a scathing promo on the pseudo commissioner letting him know things are different in his world.
Winner: The Bad Boys and Jessie Belle Smothers

Match #7
"The Anomaly" Marc Cagley with his manager J.D. Rizing battles fan favorite Aidan Brady. The unorthodox Anomaly begins in control before Brady brings the heat with his Brady Face Breaker for the pin. Rizing is upset and begins to scuff with the referee before the behemoth Billy Bob Youngblood makes his way to the ring and proceeds to choke slam the poor fellow to oblivion.
Winner: Aidan Brady

Match #8
With the ETW Championship on the line, the final combatant for the fake commissioner Brain Jeffries, takes on the current ETW Champion "The Benchmark" Andrew Boyd. Jeffries starts out on fire but cools very quickly and Boyd brings it home for the easy win.
Winner: Andrew Boyd
