Former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Katja Kankaanpaa has announced her retirement, she retires with a record of 10-3-1. Kankaanpaa became the Invicta FC Strawweight Champion by defeating Stephanie Eggink at Invicta FC VIII, but dropped the belt to Livia Renata Souza at Invicta FC 12. During her five-plus yera MMA career, Kankaanpaa fought top names like Aisling Daly, Joanne Calderwwod, Stephanie Eggink and Livia Renata Souza. Kankaanpaa last competed at Invicta FC 14, where she suffered a controversial decision loss to DeAnna Bennett.
