Following a shoulder injury that has forced him out of UFC Fight Night 79, Mirko Cro Cop has announced his retirement from the sport, he retires with a record of 31-11-2-1NC. During his fourteen year MMA career, Cro Cop has fought top names like Yuji Nagata, Wanderlei Silva, Kazushi Sakuraba, Heath Herring, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Kevin Randleman, Aleksander Emelianenko, Josh Barnett, Mark Coleman, Fedor Emelianenko, Mark Hunt, Gabriel Gonzaga, Cheick Kongo, Junior Dos Santos, Anthony Perosh, Pat Barry, Frank Mir, Brendan Schaub, Roy Nelson and Satoshi Oshii. Cro Cop was recently in the midst of his third UFC run, which only lasted one fight as he defeated Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC Fight Night: Gonzaga vs. Cro Cop II, the bout also served as the final one for his MMA career.
