Prior to announcing his retirement for missing an upcoming fight against Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night 79 due to injury, it was revealed earlier by the United States Anti-Doping Angency (USADA), that Mirko Cro Cop had failed a pre-fight drug test for a yet to be namd substance. Cro Cop has stated that he used growth hormone to try to heal his shoulder injury, but he also stated he did nothing wrong to fail a drug test. Cro Cop has stated that pulling out of the fight had nothing to do with the USADA’s ruling, but the USADA has also stated that the fight was set to be cancelled before Cro Cop made his announcement.
