Following the injury to Jessica Aguilar, Carla Esparza has agreed to step in on short notice to fight Juliana Lima at UFC 197. Esparza will be competing for the first time since losing the women’s strawweight belt to Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 185. Lima will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak, most notably defeating Ericka Almeida at UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Alves. UFC 197 takes place on April 23rd from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones headlining.
