Wrestling stars to compete in support of Cherry Valley Food Pantry

CHERRY VALLEY - Local wrestling fans will soon have the opportunity to enjoy a night of hard-hitting, family-friendly entertainment while supporting a great cause.

Mid-States Promotions Presents: Ringside Championship Wrestling (RCW) Unfinished Business will be held Friday, May 20 at Cross County High School in Cherry Valley. Partial proceeds from the wrestling show, which begins that night at 7:30, will benefit the Cherry Valley Food Pantry in support of the organization’s fundraising efforts to build a new building.

“We are really looking forward to the May 20 wrestling event,” said Joan Ball, director of the Cherry Valley Food Pantry. “It should be a lot of fun entertainment that is affordable for area families.”

According to promoter Brian Thompson, who has ties to the Cross County area from tenures at the Cross County Chamber of Commerce/Economic Development Corp. and the Wynne Progress, the event will feature five wrestling matches.

“This is going to be an exciting wrestling card,” he said. “We have teamed up with Mid-States Promotions and the Cherry Valley Food Pantry to make this all possible. This is a great opportunity to come out, have some fun – yell at your least favorite wrestlers and cheer for your heroes – all for a great cause in support the Cherry Valley Food Pantry.”
The show’s main event will feature long-time rivals “All That” Alan Steel and Derrick King in a match six years in the making, with former Memphis based promoter Randy Hales serving as guest ring announcer for the contest.

Other television wrestling stars appearing on the show include Scott Fury, Pokerface with Danielle, Danny Dollar, Jeremy Moore, “Dream Killer” Eric Wayne and Lee Michaels.

As an added attraction, two wrestling legends will be on hand for the show to meet and greet the fans in attendance. They are Bill “Superstar” Dundee, a Memphis wrestling legend, and “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, a famous member of the Midnight Express tag team in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Tickets for the event are $10 for floor seats; $8 for premium bleacher seats; and $6 for general admission bleacher seats. For more information on purchasing tickets, contact Ball at 870-208-7667 or visit www.RCWProWrestling.blogspot.com.
