COMPLETE UPW ANARCHY 13 RESULTS FROM ROCHESTER, NY

By Mike Johnson on 5/20/2016 9:16 AM

UPW returned to the Eagles Club in Rochester, New York on Saturday May 14th for Anniversary Anarchy 13. This show had it all and then some. Grudge matches, Street fights, great wrestling, NEW Tag Team Champions, the return of the Rochester Rumble, huge surprises and many debuts as well as an action-packed main event. Here’s a recap of everything that went down: The show actually started with the announcement of a new Commissioner here in UPW, Casey Doyle. Doyle was chosen by the UPW Board of Officials to restore some order in UPW and make some tough but necessary decisions in light of recent controversy that has taken place in both UPW and KDW. Doyle’s first announcement as Commissioner was that due to Colin Delaney’s failure to appear at recent UPW shows, he and Cheech were being stripped of the UPW Tag Team Titles. Furthermore, a four corners tag team match would take place with the winners becoming the new Tag Team Champions. With that edict from the new Commissioner, the show was on. Showcase Match 1. Four Corners Elimination Match for the Vacant UPW Tag Team Championship Tygerslayer ‘08 vs. The Wet Bandits vs. The Interstate Educational System vs. The “Eh” Team Four of the top teams in UPW went at it in this one with the now vacant Tag Team Titles on the line. The Wet Bandits, Joe O’Connor and Eric Rosecroft, eliminated the Interstate Educational System, Professor Wessler and Dewey Murray. The Bandits, though, were eliminated by their long-time rivals and former UPW Tag Champs Tygerslayer ‘08, Coleman “The Fight” Jackson and Krist Worthless. This led to the final two teams remaining in Tygerslayer ‘08 and the newly formed “Eh” Team of Vaughn Vertigo and Ryan Cassidy. Coleman and Worthless hit their superkick/shallow grave combo on Cassidy, but “All Passion” somehow kicked out. Cassidy tagged in Vertigo who took the fight to Worthless. Coleman went after Cassidy but Cassidy pulled down the top rope sending him to the outside. Worthless was now isolated by the Eh Team, with Vertigo hitting an Edge-O-Matic, Cassidy hitting a springboard double knee facebreaker, and Vaughn hitting a top-rope double stomp with Cassidy holding on. Cassidy covered Worthless for the three-count and new champions were crowned. The young upstart duo from north of the border have officially arrived. Winners & New Champions: The “Eh” Team 2. Six-Way Scramble Match “The Cali Kidd” Jordan Falco vs. Rob “Just 2” Sweet vs. Chris Cayden vs. “The Alpha & The Omega” Jason Savior vs. Victor Lord vs. “100% Intensity” Bobby Dipinto Six of UPW’s top stars went at it in this one fall scramble match. Action started hot with Dipinto going right after his former tag team partner Sweet who turned on him at KDW’s last show, Spring Loaded. These two went at it throughout the match and their hatred for each other saw both men eventually fight all the way back to the locker room, making it a fatal four-way. Lord hit Savior with a blue thunder bomb for a near fall but Falco broke it up. Lord went for his “21” muscle buster on Falco but Jordan fought him off and hit a top-rope missile dropkick sending him to the outside. The opportunistic Cayden took advantage hitting Falco with a swinging cradle suplex for the three-count. The man who’s “Charisma Personified” gets the win, but the issues between Lord/Savior and Sweet/Dipinto are far from over. Winner: Chris Cayden 3. Street Fight “Just” Jeremy Jensen vs. Yamaraj (w/Bin Hamin) Culmination of a feud between former tag team partners now bitter enemies which started in KDW and would come to an end in this street fight. Jensen in control to start out, but Yamaraj gained the advantage with help from Hamin. Goes after Jensen with a kendo stick. Jensen takes the kendo stick from Yamaraj but Yamaraj catches him with a roundhouse kick. Goes to the top rope but Jensen shakes ropes and Yamaraj lands on top turnbuckle. Jensen hits his butterfly superplex from the top rope for a near fall. Fight goes to the outside,. Yamaraj hits a flying knee on Jensen who was draped over the guardrail. Back inside, Jensen fought back and hits his "BTG" for the pin and what looked like the win, but Hamin pulls him out and attacks him. Throws him back in for Yamaraj to deliver his patented running forearm with a loaded elbow pad for the three-count. A physical battle between these two young up-and-coming stars, but the numbers game and Yamaraj’s newfound killer instinct were too much for Jensen to overcome. Winner: Yamaraj Main Show 1. Marc Hauss vs. Space Monkey Monkey in control in the early going. Hauss hit uranage into gut buster to take the advantage. Monkey gets several near falls but Hauss hits a running knee. Monkey fought back, hits a moonsault for the near fall. Hauss hits his basement DDT and release suplex for a near fall of his own. Monkey hits 450 senton for another near fall. Monkey is finally able to land his neckbreaker and tail whip for the three-count. A good competitive opener with the popular Space Monkey getting the win. Winner: Space Monkey 2. Plunkett The Ogre vs. “Sik” Rik Matrix (w/”Mad Dog” Bobby Rogers) Two men made their returns to UPW in this battle of big men. The veteran Matrix took control in the early going. Plunkett fought back but Matrix cut him off and locked him in a front chancery. Matrix locks in a sleeper, but Plunkett counters with a jawbreaker. Plunkett fought back and got a near fall. Went to the second rope but Matrix got his knees up and caught Plunkett in the midsection. Matrix then delivered his patented Matrix Driver for the three-count. A good showing by both men but Matrix’s experience and aggressiveness proved to be too much for the Ogre. Winner: Rik Matrix 3. “The Appalachian Outlaw” Jock Samson (w/Bin Hamin) vs. “Supercop” Dick Justice Special challenge match between two men with a storied past, which Jock reminded everyone of before the match. Jock also said he was aligning with someone who hated Dick Justice more than him and that’s long-time nemesis Bin Hamin. Justice in control in the early going. Takes it to Jock on the outside. Hamin briefly distracts Dick allowing Jock to push Dick into the steel ringpost. Back inside, Jock stayed in control but Dick fought back. Delivers Kawada chops, clothesline and big splash for a near fall but Jock got his foot on the ropes. Jock delivers a DDT for a near fall. Hamin jumps up on ring apron and holds Dick for Jock. Dick moves but Jock stops. Dick then pushes Jock into Hamin and they collide and Dick rolls him up for the win. A huge victory for the man who represents ‘Merica as he gets a small measure of revenge against two of his long-time rivals. Winner: Dick Justice 4. Four Corners Match (Winner Goes to the 2016 Upstate 8) “The Amazing Canadian” Lionel Knight vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page vs. Shane Sabre vs. Coconut Jones Four corners match featuring UPW fan favorite Coconut Jones and three of the top Canadian stars going today in Knight, Page, and Sabre with the winner moving on to this year’s Upstate 8. Action was fast and furious with all four men taking the fight to each other and getting several near falls. Page and Coconut renewed their rivalry as well. Page hits a huge bicycle kick for near fall. Coconut with a jumping knee for a near fall. Coconut goes for his tornado DDT, referee David Manning Jr. moves to avoid getting kicked by Coconut. This allowed Page to go low on Coconut and hits his Spinning Dwayne finisher for the three-count. Once again, All Ego gets the better of Coconut Jones, much to the displeasure of the fans, and will now move on to the 2016 Upstate 8. Winner: Ethan Page 5. Street Fight “The Rain On Your Parade” Cloudy vs. “Your Captain” Nick Ando Another feud culminating in a street fight between former partners and best friends. Ando in control in the early going, taking the fight right to Cloudy. Ando hits a suicide dive to the outside. Cloudy hits Ando with the ring bell. Cloudy then used his umbrella to his advantage. Ando brought a steel chair in, but Cloudy used it against him. Hits a flatliner on the chair for a near fall. Cloudy brings in a trash can, but Ando head scissors him into it then hits a bridging german suplex for a near fall. Ando goes for hesitation splash, but Cloudy throws a chair at him knocking Ando to the outside. Back inside, Ando takes off his boot as he appeared to have hurt his heel or ankle but continued to fight through the pain. Ando hits a falcon arrow for a near fall. Cloudy answers back with a reverse rana for a near fall. Action spills out to the ring apron. Ando delivers a huge falcon arrow on Cloudy off the apron through 6 chairs on the outside. Back inside, Ando covers but Cloudy barely kicks out. Cloudy goes low gets a small package for a near fall. After several reversals, Ando hits a spear and a piledriver off a steel chair for the three-count. A physical, hard-fought match which sees “Your Captain” come out on top. Winner: "Your Captain" Nick Ando 6. Pick Your Poison Match (Chosen by Maximo Suave) (Non-Title Match) UPW No Limits Champion “The Young Lion of the West” Mattick vs. “The Man That Father Time Forgot” Hellcat It was the battle of #wrestledad vs. #wrestleson as Mattick went one-on-one with Hellcat with the winner becoming the #1 contender for the UPW Heavyweight Title. Also, per order of UPW Commissioner Casey Doyle if either man forfeited the match or tried to lay down for the other, they’d be banned from competing in the UPW. Technical stalemate to start things out. Hellcat chops Mattick on the outside. Back inside, Hellcat hits an atomic drop and a STO for the near fall. Still in control Hellcat hits a side backbreaker/clothesline combo for another near fall. Mattick fought back. Hits running European uppercut and cutter from out of nowhere for another near fall. Hellcat counter with a DDT which almost put Mattick away. Mattick gets Hellcat onto his back and delivers a Kryptonite Krunch for 2 7/8. After several reversals, Mattick hits Hellcat with a vertical suplex and rolls through into a small package. Senior referee Richard Head counts the pin but both men’s shoulders were down and declared the match a draw. Commissioner Doyle then announced that since there was no clear-cut winner, both of them were declared the #1 contenders for the UPW Heavyweight Championship. So now Maximo Suave has not one, but two contenders gunning for his title. Winner: Draw 7. Carter Mason vs. Cheech vs. Ricky Reyes The following match was supposed to be Carter Mason against Cheech in what was sure to be a mat classic, was interrupted by Lucha Underground star and a man who’s no stranger to UPW in “The Cuban Crippler” Ricky Reyes. Determined to make an impact and just because he can, Reyes interjected himself in this match making it a triple threat. Match started with Carter and Cheech going at it. Eventually Mason and Reyes would double-team Cheech to gain the advantage. Their partnership, though, would quickly dissolve and they went at it as well. Cheech fought back hitting various double-team moves for near falls. Reyes hits springboard DDT on Mason for a near fall. Mason hits double neckbreaker on both for near falls. Cheech with russian leg sweep/flatliner combo for near falls. Mason hits jumping knee on Reyes for another near fall. Reyes sends Cheech into the ringpost, sending him to the outside. Hits pop up powerbomb on Mason followed by Whiplash (snap swinging neckbreaker) for the three-count. An impressive showing by all three men but The Cuban Crippler gets the duke in his UPW return. Winner: Ricky Reyes 8. Rochester Rumble A UPW staple returned at Anniversary Anarchy 13 in the Rochester Rumble. This year’s Rumble had even more importance and prestige with the winner qualfying for this year’s Upstate 8. The action in this one was fast and furious and featured several debuts such as the PR Nation, Samson Alexander, MMM (Money Mike McWillis), and Icon Ace. It also featured the returns of Spazz and the artist formerly known as Gabreal Saint, now going by the name Kamryn Blaque. Blaque hadn’t been in a UPW ring in months, but she returned with a vengeance eliminating several wrestlers in the Rumble before leaving the ring and eliminating herself. No one was sure as to why she left but you’d best believe we haven’t heard the last of Kamryn Blaque and she will be back in the near future. As for the Rumble, the final four came down to Marc Hauss, “Real Mutha Trucka” Dewey Murray, and two men who faced each other earlier in Dick Justice and Jock Samson. Justice eliminated Hauss and Dewey, but Jock snuck up behind Dick throwing him over the top rope. But Dick landed on the ring apron much to Jock’s dismay. An irate Jock charged at Dick, who pulled down the top rope sending Jock to the floor. Justice was served and everyone’s favorite Supercop is going to the Upstate 8. Winner: Dick Justice 9. Main Event Pick Your Poison Match (Chosen by Mattick) (Non-Title Match) UPW Heavyweight Champion Maximo Suave VS Former WWE Superstar Carlito Main event was the second Pick Your Poison match this one chosen by Mattick. A man who’s done it all in this business in former WWE superstar Carlito taking on UPW Heavyweight Champion Maximo Suave. Carlito in control in the early going, but Maximo gained advantage. Hits low dropkick for near fall. Focused on Carlito’s lower back. Hits up kick and neckbreaker for a near fall. Goes for Carlito’s finisher the backstabber but Carlito grabs the ropes and Maximo hits nothing but canvas. A very focused Carlito fires up. Hits a spinebuster for a near fall. Goes for his trademark apple spit at Maximo, but gets referee Richard Head instead. Maximo goes for superkick on Carlito, but Richard catches that as well and is down and out. That allowed Maximo to go low on Carlito, Another referee Jason Massey comes out but Carlito barely kicks out. A frustrated Maximo grabs his title belt and looked to use it on Carlito. Mattick comes out and takes the belt away. Maximo argues with Mattick but the distraction allows Carlito to spit in Maximo’s face and deliver his backstabber for the three-count. A “cool” ending to Anniversary Anarchy 13 with Carlito getting the win in his UPW debut. On the other hand, a not-so-cool night for Maximo Suave as he must now turn his attention to July’s Red, White, & Bruised where he’ll face Mattick AND Hellcat in a triple threat match for the UPW Heavyweight Championship. Winner: Carlito Thank you to all the fans who attended the show and thank you for supporting UPW for the last 13 years. It’s said a lot but it always rings true. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you.
