TITAN FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 39 PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS

By David Tees on 6/9/2016 7:52 PM

While there are no shows from the biggest MMA promotions around the world, there is a huge event coming our way from the Titan Fighting Championships. The event will be headlined by a trio of title bouts in the welterweight, lightweight and featherweight divisions. Also, top fighters like Carina Damm, Micah Miller, Alexis Vila and others will be stepping into the cage as well.

Main Event

Titan FC Lightweight Title Decision Fight

Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante (19-8-1-2NC) vs. Pat “Bam Bam” Healy (33-21-0-1NC)

Cavalcante will be returning to action for the first time in nearly two years and this fight will be his Titan FC debut. Healy is a former Titan FC Lightweight Champion and UFC veteran, he was stripped of the title after missing weight for Titan FC 35. Cavalcante is coming off of a four fight run in the World Series Of Fighting, with a notable win coming over UFC veteran Tyson Griffin. Healy did win a single fight since getting stripped of the title, that win came over Mushin Corbbrey at Titan FC 37. Cavalcante has a good submission game that could give Healy fits, but Healy uses his wrestling to nullify that and earn the decision win.

Co-Main Event

Titan FC Featherweight Title Fight

Andre “The Bull” Harrison (12-0-0) (Champion) vs. Deivison “Deivison Dragon” Francisco Ribeiro (26-9-0-1NC)

Harrison will be making the third defense of his championship, last defending it against Steven Siler at Titan FC 37. Ribeiro will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he is the current Xtreme Fighting Championships International Featherweight Champion. Harrison has had an impressive run in Titan FC, having defeated four opponents who are veterans of the UFC, Bellator MMA and WSOF. Ribeiro will be returning to action for the first time in nearly two years, but his last bout was a win over UFC veteran Waylon Lowe. Harrison has easily the best wrestling skill set in Titan FC, he uses that to grind out a decision win to keep the title.

Titan FC Welterweight Title Decision Fight

Dhiego Lima (11-4-0) vs. David “Bulldawg” Michaud (9-2-0)

Lima is a UFC veteran who will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he only won just one of four during his time in the UFC. Michaud is also a veteran of UFC competition that is making his Titan FC debut, he won just one of three during his UFC tenure. Lima is the brother of longtime Bellator MMA veteran Douglas Lima and he has been undefeated since his UFC release. Michaud did compete once in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance as well, defeating Chris Hugh at RFA 37. Michaud has a great ground and pound game, which is something Lima has had issues with, Michaud wins by second round stoppage.

Titan FC Women’s Bantamweight Division Fight

Sarah “Too Sweet” Alpar (6-3-0) vs. Carina “Barbie” Damm (22-12-0)

Allpar will be making her Titan FC debut in this fight and she does hold a victory over UFC veteran Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger. Damm is a longtime veteran of the women’s MMA scene, but she has not earned a victory in just over two years. Damm does have a good submission game, but Alpar uses her wrestling to grind out a decision and pull the upset.

Titan FC Featherweight Division Fight

Kenny “Good To Go: Gaudreau (4-4-0) vs. Micah “Maverick” Miller (19-8-0-1NC)

Gaudreau will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he has not earned a victory himself in just over two years. Miller is currently winless under the Titan FC banner and he is the brother of longtime UFC veteran Cole Miller. Miller has one of the more underrated ground games in MMA right now and he shows it off by submitting Gaudreau in the first.

Titan FC Flyweight Division Fight

Abdiel “The Nightmare” Velazquez (6-2-0) vs. Alexis “The Exorcist” Vila (14-6-0)

Velazquez will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he competed just over a month ago at the House of MMA V event. Vila will also be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he did make it to the finals of a Bellator MMA Bantamweight Division Tournament. Vila has a good striking game and his age is catching up to him, Velazquez grounds Vila to get a decision win.

Titan FC Featherweight Division Fight

Luciano “Macarrao” Dos Santos (10-7-0) vs. Kurt Holobaugh (14-4-0)

Dos Santos has won just one of two under the Titan FC banner, with that lone win coming over Jeremy Severn at Titan FC 29. Holobaugh is a former Titan FC Featherweight Champion and he has been winless since losing the belt to Andre Harrison at Titan FC 34. Dos Santos is a talented fighter, but Holobaugh grounds him for the majority of the fight to get a decision.

Titan FC Welterweight Division Fight

Vitor “Negao” Regis Eustaquio (8-5-0) vs. Sabah “The Punisher” Homasi (9-5-0)

Eustaquio will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and none of his thirteen bouts have ever gone to the judge’s scorecards. Homasi will also be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he only did win one of three during his runs in Bellator MMA. This should be nothing short of a slugfest for as long as it actually lasts, but it will be Homasi picking up the first round TKO win.

Titan FC Bantamweight Division Fight

Chino Duran (8-8-0) vs. Lazar Stojadinovic (10-5-0)

Duran will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he will be doing so after being out of action for almost two years. Stojadinovic will also be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he will be doing so on a six fight winning streak. Duran is not one of the most impressive fighters to step into Titan FC lately, Stojadinovic finishes him with strikes in the first.

Titan FC Welterweight Division Fight

Ignacio Bahamondes (1-0-0) vs. Preston Parsons (3-1-0)

Bahamondes made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at Island Fights 37, where he defeated Rodrigo Tavares by knockout. Parsons will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight as well and he previously spent his entire MMA career in the House Of Fame MMA promotion. Parsons has a pretty good submission game at this point of his career and he taps Bahamondes in the first round.

Titan FC Featherweight Division Fight

Raush Manfio (6-1-0) vs. Luis “The Cuban Assassin” Zequeira (3-2-0)

Manfio will be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he will also be returning to action after a two-plus year absence from competition. Zequeira will also be making his Titan FC debut in this fight and he will be doing so on a two fight losing streak. Manfio has developed a good striking game and he will use that striking game to finish Zequeira with strikes in the first.
