Following the injury to James Krause, former Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion Will Brooks has signed with the UFC and will step in on short notice to fight Ross Pearson at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. Brooks was released by Bellator MMA earlier this year and was also stripped of his lightweight title, he defeated Michael Chandler too win that title. Pearson has rotated wins and losses in his last eight fights, with his last fight being a win over Chad Laprise at UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Mir. UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale takes place on July 8th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha headlining.
