LATEST UPDATE ON POTENTIAL UFC SALE

By David Tees on 6/16/2016 5:39 PM

In the last few days, the rumors of the apparent upcoming sale of the Ultimate Fighting Championships has been spreading like wildfire. So, this piece you are reading right now is going to tell you what is actually happening when it comes to the sale of the promotion.

Let’s start this off by saying right now that the sale of the UFC is very close to happening, with two major bidders vying for the company. The two major players in this game are the William Morris Endeavor-International Management Group (WME-IMG) and China Media Capital (CMC). There were rumors floating around that the owner of the NFL’s New England Patriots, Robert Kraft, was involved in the purchase as well, but Kraft has denied being involved in any way.

The UFC was seeking around $6 Million for the company, but the latest numbers show that the highest bid currently sits at $4.1 Billion. Assuming the deal goes through, it has been rumored that current UFC President Dana White will stay in the role for the short term at the least, while the Fertita Brothers and Flash Entertainment (minority owner) would be gone from the UFC altogether. The last thing that will be said here is that if the deal does happen, it should happen sometime in the coming ten days and the announcements will be made.
