RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE 39 PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS

This is one of the biggest weekends of action in a longtime for MMA fans, with the Resurrection Fighting Alliance capping off a busy Friday of action. The event will be headlined by a featherweight title fight as Raoni Barcelos defends against Bobby Moffett. Also, Luis Saldana takes on Mike Santiago and eight other top MMA prospects are stepping into the cage.

Main Event

RFA Featherweight Title Fight

Raoni Barcelos (9-1-0) (Champion) vs. Bobby “The Wolfman” Moffett (8-1-0)

Barcelos will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Ricky Musgrave at RFA 29. Moffett is currently undefeated under the RFA banner, having defeated Dan Moret at RFA 24. Barcelos will be competing for the first time in nearly a year and he holds a win over UFC veteran Tyler Toner. Moffett is also a veteran of the Hoosier Fight Club promotion, where he won three fights at. Moffett will want to use his ground game to get the win, but barcelos counters with his striking to get a decision win.

Co-Main Event

RFA Featherweight Division Fight

Luis Saldana (10-4-0) vs. Mike Santiago (17-9-0)

Saldana will be returning to the RFA for the first time in nearly three years, his last bout in the promotion was a loss to Justin Lawrence at RFA X. Santiago will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he does so on a seven fight winning streak. Saldana will also be competing for the third time in 2016, he won his previous two fights this year. Santiago has fought a total of two UFC veterans thus far in his career, he suffered defeats to both of them. These are two fighters who will be looking to get the fight to the ground, which is where Saldana catches Santiago late in the third for a submission win.

RFA Middleweight Division Fight

Joseph Gigliotti (7-0-0) vs. Daniel “The Bulldog” Vizcaya (9-3-0)

Gigliotti is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, which includes wins in the RFA and World Series Of Fighting. Vizcaya will be making his RFA debut in this fight, his last win came over MMA fighter/pro wrestler Chuck O’Neil. Gigliotti has been finishing opponents at a rapid pace, Gigliotti finishes Vizcaya with strikes in the first.

RFA Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Jordan Johnson (4-0-0) vs. Shaun “The Bully” Asher (11-2-1)

Johnson is an undefeated fighter who already won twice in the RFA and all of his wins came by first round finish. Asher will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Turf Wars MMA promotion. Johnson has an amazing ground game at this stage of his career, he quickly finishes Asher with a first round submission.

RFA Bantamweight Division Fight

Ode “The Oddity” Osbourne (3-0-0-1NC) vs. Antonio Sanchez (2-0-0)

Osbourne will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is a three fight veteran of the North American Fighting Championships promotion. Sanchez will also be making his RFA debut in this fight, he last defeated Justin King at UCL: Vengeance this past April. Osbourne and Sanchez are both worthy of their undefeated records, but it will be Osbourne submitting Sanchez in the second to stay undefeated.

RFA Welterweight Division Fight

Deray Davis (7-1-1) vs. Bobby Nash (6-1-0)

Davis has only competed twice in the last seven years, but he earned wins in both of those appearances. Nash will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is on a four fight winning streak, he is also a veteran of the Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting promotion. Davis has not been the most active fighter as of late, the more active Nash submits him in the first.
