By David Tees on 6/24/2016 4:37 PM

Concluding a huge Friday Night of MMA action will be Victory Fighting Championships 51, which features a pair of title bouts. The event will be headlined by Robert Emerson facing Shawn West for the vacant bantamweight title and Rakim Cleveland facing Mike Rhodes for the vacant middleweight title. Also, former WSOF Featherweight Champion Rick Glenn competes and several other top MMA prospects are in action.

Main Event

VFC Bantamweight Title Decision Fight

Robert “The Saint” Emerson (16-11-0-1NC) vs. Shawn West (12-6-0-1NC)

Emerson will be making his VFC debut in this fight and he is a seven fight veteran of the UFC, he won three fights in the promotion. West will also be making his VFC debut in this fight and he will be doing so on a seven fight winning streak. Emerson is coming off of a three fight run in Bellator MMA, where he earned a notable win over Joe Taimanglo. West has fought a grand total of nineteen fights during his time as a pro and none of those fights went to a decision. Emerson has a great deal of experience in this fight, but West has been mowing through people in recent years and he finishes Emerson with strikes in the first.

Co-Main Event

VFC Middleweight Title Decision Fight

Rakim Cleveland (13-7-1) vs. Mike “Biggie” Rhodes (9-4-0)

Cleveland is currently undefeated under the VFC banner, with a notable win coming over UFC veteran Brian Houston. Rhodes will be making his VFC debut in this fight and he is a three fight veteran of the UFC. Cleveland did previously challenge for the Midwest Cage Championships Middleweight Title, he came up short in that bout. Rhodes has been undefeated since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Dolloway. Cleveland is far better at mixing it up when compared to Rhodes, Cleveland mixes it up enough to earn the decision win and the title.

VFC Featherweight Division Fight

Rick “The Gladiator” Glenn (17-3-1) vs. Ramiro “Junior” Hernandez (18-8-0)

Glenn will be making his VFC debut in this fight and he is a former World Series Of Fighting Featherweight Champion. Hernandez will be returning to the VFC for the first time in a year, he has only won a single fight since that last appearance. Glenn is an expert at using his reach to get the win, Glenn finishes Hernandez with strikes in the second round.

VFC Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Julius Anglickas (1-0-0) vs. Cameron “Captain Crunch” Olson (3-2-0-1NC)

Anglickas made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at an Shamrock FC event, where he defeated Eric Crittendon by TKO. Olson is currently winless in VFC competition, dropping a fight to Jordan Young at VFC 48. Olson is a great test for the lesser experienced Anglickas, Anglickas finishes him in the first round with strikes.

VFC Featherweight Division Fight

Anthony Baccam (9-4-0) vs. Mike Plazola (9-4-0)

Baccam is currently undefeated in VFC competition, having defeated Kamuela Kirk by decision at VFC 48. Plazola will be making his VFC debut in this fight and he has won six of his last seven bouts. These are two fighters who are on pretty good roles right now, but it will be Plazola getting a close decision win.

VFC Featherweight Division Fight

Christopher Dunn (9-6-0) vs. Horacio Escobar (4-2-0)

Dunn has rotated wins and losses in his last six fights, plus this fight will mark his VFC debut. Escobar will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he is a longtime veteran of the Shamrock FC promotion. These are two fighters who are in a bit of a slump right now, but it will be Escobar finishing Dunn with strikes in the first.

VFC Featherweight Division Fight

Nate Endres (1-1-0) vs. Stoney Stuart (4-0-0)

Endres is currently undefeated in VFC competition, having defeated Bryce McKeever at VFC 48. Stuart will be making his VFC debut in this fight and all four of his previous wins were first round finishes. Stuart has been finishing everybody since making his pro debut, the streak continues as he finishes Endres with strikes in the first.
