WEDNESDAY’S THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER DELIVERS BEST SPRING EPISODE 12 VIEWERSHIP SINCE FS1 SERIES DEBUT

Audience Peaks at 683,000 Viewers for Final Season 23 Episode

Los Angeles – With anticipation growing for Friday’s THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER FINALE: TEAM JOANNA VS. TEAM CLAUDIA on FS1 and Saturday’s UFC 200, the 12th and final “regular season” episode of THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER on FS1 scored 601,000 viewers on a Live+SD basis Wednesday night, according to Nielsen Media Research, making it the most-watched Spring regular season final episode since the show debuted on the network.

Wednesday’s episode, featuring two exciting fights determining Friday’s finals in the strawweight and light heavyweight divisions, was up +42% over last Spring’s episode 12 (601,000 vs. 423,000) and +3% over Spring 2014’s episode 12 (601,000 vs. 586,000). The show peaked with 683,000 viewers during the final quarter hour.

FS1’s THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER companion show, TUF TALK, continued to show gains as well. Wednesday’s special episode telecast live from the lobby of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 11:00 PM ET, posted 161,000 viewers, +18% above both the current season-to-date average and the first half hour of FOX SPORTS LIVE following last Spring’s episode 12 (161,000 vs. 137,000).

This season, THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER has also seen strong gains with DVR viewership. While final numbers won’t be in for episode 12 until next week, last week’s episode 11 averaged 683,000 viewers on a Live+3 basis, a +53% improvement over the Live+SD viewership (683,000 vs. 447,000), and +9% above the Live+3 viewership for Episode 11 last spring (683,000 vs. 628,000).

The much-anticipated THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER FINALE: TEAM JOANNA VS. TEAM CLAUDIA airs on Friday, July 7 (10:00 PM ET) live on FS1, featuring the strawweight title fight between this season’s coaches, current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and No. 1-ranked contender Claudia Gadelha.
