PLETHORA OF FIGHTS SET FOR UFC FIGHT NIGHT 96

A grand total of six fights have been added to UFC Fight Night 96 as Sergio Pettis faces Louis Smolka, Will Brooks faces Alex Oliveira, Nate Marquardt faces Tamdan McCrory, Josh Burkman faces Bobby Green, Shamil Abdurakhimov faces Walt Harris and Joachim Christensen faces Luis Henrique Da Silva. Pettis has won four of his last five under the UFC banner and he will enter that fight riding a two fight winning streak. Smolka will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he has not suffered a defeat in well over two years.

Brooks is currently undefeated under the UFC banner and he is a former Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion. Oliveira has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, last defeating James Moontasri at UFC On Fox 20. Marquardt has only won just two of seven fights in his second UFC run and he is a former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion. McCrory has won just one of two fights in his second UFC run, with that lone win coming over Josh Samman at UFC On Fox 17.

Burkman has won just one of five fights in his second UFC run and this is going to be his third fight in the calender year. Green will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has not earned a victory in well over two years. Abdurakhimov will be looking to build on the momentum of his first UFC win, which came over Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Oliveira. Harris has won just one of two fights in his second UFC run, with that lone win coming over Cody Eats at UFC 197.

Christensen will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and this bout will mark the fighters UFC debut. Da Silva is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Jonathan Wilson by TKO at UFC 199. UFC Fight Night 96 takes place on October 1st from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon with no headliners announced as of yet.
