A lightweight title fight that will see champion Chris Fishgold defend the championship against Jason Ponet. Fishgold will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Adam Boussif at Cage Warriors 77. Ponet will be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight and he has only won just one of his last three heading into this fight. Cage Warriors 78 takes place on September 10th from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
