2. “Just” Jeremy Jensen vs. “The Cali Kidd” Jordan Falco

Two of UPW’s top young stars looked to get in the win column with a victory in this one. Falco in control in the early going. Jensen fought back, hitting a corner forearm and a ddt. Jensen with a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Falco with a jumping knee and an exploder for a near fall. After a series of reversals, Falco hits a fireman’s carry double-knee gutbuster for the pin. Winner: Jordan Falco

Main Show

1. Cloudy’s Open Challenge
The main show of Headlocks & Homeruns 5 kicked off with an annual H&H tradition in Cloudy’s open challenge. Cloudy ran off the list of men he’s faced over the years and said this year he’d be issuing a challenge to someone specific. Someone he saw in the back that he called an “old man” trying to make a comeback and Cloudy was going to put him out to pasture. That “old man” was ECW original and former ROH Tag Team Champion and someone who Cloudy’s has a long-standing history with, HC Loc.

Cloudy vs. HC Loc

Cloudy in control in the early going. Loc with a seated clothesline and series of chops in each corner. Cloudy throws Loc to the outside. Hits a superkick on the ring apron. Loc backdrops Cloudy on the outside. Delivers another chop and a rolling senton from the ring apron. Cloudy kicks the ropes as Loc tries to make his way back in. Cloudy with a running forearm and double knees in the corner and a neckbreaker for near falls. Cloudy goes to the top rope, but Loc catches him and slams him off. HC Loc hits his carnage combo and a tornado spinning bulldog for a near fall. Cloudy hits a pair of superkicks and a flipping cutter for a near fall. Both men exchange blows, but Cloudy gets the better of it. Hits a beautiful uranage sitout slam for a near fall. Cloudy goes for a clothesline, but Loc catches him with a saito suplex and hits a leg lariat for the three-count. A hard-fought match but “The Rain on Your Parade” comes up short in his annual open challenge as HC Loc picks up another win as his comeback continues.

Winner: HC Loc

2. Eight-Man Tag Team Elimination Match
Tigerslayer ‘08 & The Interstate Educational System (w/Bin Hamin) vs. The Wet Bandits & ?#‎WrestleFamily?

The action was fast and furious in this eight-man elimination match. Hellcat started out chopping the hell out of Dewey but with a cheap shot from Professor Wessler from the apron Hellcat's momentum was stopped. Dewey took advantage hitting his patented truck stop slam for the first elimination. Ryan Cassidy, though, caught Professor Wessler with a rollup and the pin eliminating him to even things up. Dewey back in and blindsides Cassidy wih a big boot. Rosecroft gets the tag and waits on Dewey. The Wet Bandits double-team Dewey hitting him with their "Slippery When Wet" Flapjack, Top Rope Bulldog combo with Eric Rosecroft getting the pin to eliminate Dewey. O'Connor gets attacked from behind by Tigerslayer ‘08 who take the advantage. Coleman with a side kick to the head of Rosecroft and Krist Worthless hits the “shallow grave” eliminating Rosecroft making it 2 on 2. Joe O'Connor fights with everything he has until Bin Hamin hits O’Connor with his flag pole unbeknownst to referee Jason Massey. Coleman Jackson and Worthless hit a pair of double discus elbows with Jackson getting the pin eliminating O’Connor. This led to a 2-on-1 between Coleman and Worthless against Ryan Cassidy. Cassidy showed his fighting spirit and fought hard gaining a few near falls. But the numbers game was too much for “All Passion” to overcome as Coleman hit a running knee and an elevated butterfly sitout slam for the three-count.

Winners: Tigerslayer ‘08

3. Marc Hauss vs. “Brooklyn's Own” Steve Lombardi

One of the more anticipated matchups of Headlocks & Homeruns 5 was Marc Hauss in his biggest and toughest challenge to date as he took on former WWE legend "Brooklyn's Own" Steve Lombardi making his debut on the indies since leaving the WWE earlier this year. Lombardi who’s always been hated throughout his career, ironically had the crowd behind him in this one much to Hauss’s dismay and frustration. Lombardi in control in early going. Using the ropes to throttle him and keep the advantage. Hauss caught him with a boot and clothesline to gain the upper hand. Hauss briefly stayed in control but went to the top rope and Lombardi slammed him off. Lombardi locks in the "Brooklyn" crab. Hauss tried to get to the ropes, but the veteran wisely pulled him back to the middle of the ring and Hauss was forced to tap out. Steve Lombardi proved that’s he’s definitely still got it as he gets the win much to the delight of the fans in attendance.

Winner: "Brooklyn's Own" Steve Lombardi

4. “Jihad” Jock Samson (w/Bin Hamin) vs. “Supercop” Dick Justice (w/”Dirty” Dutch Mantell)

It’s grudge match time in this one as “Jihad” Jock Samson led by his “spiritual advisor” Bin Hamin looked to even the score with “Supercop” Dick Justice who had at his side a living legend in the wrestling business and a “real American” in “Dirty” Dutch Mantell. Mantell promised the fans that Justice would indeed be served and when it was all said and done, Bin Hamin would stand in the middle of the ring and recite the pledge of allegiance. As for the match itself, Dick in control in the early going. On the outside, Hamin briefly distracted Dick allowing Jock to hit him from behind. Jock in control back inside momentarily distracting referee Jason Massey allowing Hamin to get in a cheap shot. Justice with repeated chops but runs into an elbow for a near fall. Both men exchange headbutts. Jock locks in sleeper, but Dick refused to stay down. Hits shoulder block and big elbow for a near fall. Tigerslayer ‘08 and Yamaraj come out but Dick fights them off, hitting a splash off the apron to take out all 3 men. Back inside, Jock nailed Dick with his bullrope and referee Jason Massey was preoccupied with Tygerslayer ‘08 & Yamaraj but Dick kicked out at 2. Bin Hamin comes in to hit Dick with his flag, but Dutch grabs the flab and hits Hamin in the ankle, As Massey gets Hamin out, Jock goes after Dutch who nails Jock with a right hand and Dick hits Jock with the “Uncle Slam” for the pin. After the match, a distraught and dejected Bin Hamin stood in the center of the ring and recited the pledge of allegiance. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell lived up to his promise and he and Dick Justice get the win for “Murica.”

Winner: "Supercop" Dick Justice w/ "Dirty" Dutch Mantell

5. Headlocks & Homeruns 5 Championship Battle Royal

Another tradition continued here with the Headlocks & Homeruns 5 Championship Battle Royal. Previous winners included current champions Maximo Suave and Mattick and Hellcat with the winner getting the chain link belt and giving their career a definite boost. The action in this was non-stop with several UPW stars making their debuts. In the end the final six came down to Bobby Dipinto, Icon Ace, Jordan Falco, Jeremy Jensen, and The Interstate Educational System (Professor Wessler & Dewey Murray). Dipinto and Jensen hit dives on Wessler, Murray, and Falco. Icon Ace hit a springboard moonsault on all five men. Back inside, Wessler and Muray attack Falco as he goes to the outside. Dipinto with a crossbody off the top rope on Ace and Jeremy with both on Wessler and Murray’s shoulders. Dewey hits the truck stop on Falco, Jeremy hits his BTG on Dewey. Dipinto spears Jensen. Ace superkicks Dipinto, Wessler with springboard eyepoke and his “textbook” clothesline on Ace with Dewey holding all the other wrestlers at bay for the three-count. An overjoyed Professor Wessler with the help from his partner becomes the 2016 Headlocks & Homeruns Champion.

Winner: Professor Wessler

6. “Mr. Charisma Personified” Chris Cayden vs. Dan “The Beast” Severn

Dan “The Beast” Severn came to Headlocks & Homeruns 5 for one reason and one reason only. To punish Chris Cayden. And punish him he did. Per the order of UPW Commissioner Casey Doyle, Cayden was forced to go one-on-one with the UFC legend. Cayden shook hands with Severn to start out, only for Severn to catch him with an belly-to-belly suplex. Cayden stalls on the outside but finally makes his way back him. Severn goes for german suplex but Cayden stays in corner. As referee Richard Head tries to bring him out, Cayden goes low. Cayden throws everything he can at Severn, but his shots have no effect. Severn hits a huge short-arm clothesline and overhead belly-to-belly throw. Severn locks in a dragon sleeper and Cayden quickly taps out. Dan Severn did what he came to do and it’s highly unlikely Cayden will be defying our UPW Commissioner in the future considering the beating he received at the hands of “The Beast.”

Winner: Dan "The Beast" Severn

7. “The New Wave” Cheech vs. “Your Captain” Nick Ando

Two of UPW’s top stars looked to move up in the UPW Heavyweight Title hunt with a win in this one. Technical affair to start out with Ando gaining the early advantage. Cheech hits a rana and headscissors for near falls. Ando with a headscissors of his own. Battle goes to outside with Ando hitting another headscissors and a backdrop suplex on the ring apron. Back inside, Ando with the hesitation hilo for a near fall. Sends Cheech back outside and delivers a chop. Missed a second chop and hits the ring post. Cheech delivers vertical suplex. Back inside, Ando with a double chop for a near fall. Cheech answers with a powerslam for a near fall. Ando with a back elbow and clothesline for a near fall. Both men exchange near falls. Cheech goes up top but Ando catches up and hits a top rope rana then a falcon arrow for another near fall. Neither man can put the other away. "Your Captain" hits his patented piledriver but Cheech gets his foot on the bottom rope before the three count. After a series of reversals, Ando hits Cheech with a flipping piledriver/destroyer for the three-count. A hard-fought, back-and-forth contest with “Your Captain” coming out victorious.

Winner: "Your Captain" Nick Ando

8. Main Event
Title vs. Title Steel Cage Match
UPW NO-Limits Champion “The Young Lion of the West” Mattick vs. UPW Heavyweight Champion “The Rican Sensation” Maximo Suave

This is it. The main event of Headlocks & Homeruns 5. A match nearly 1 year in the making. Two men walk in as champions. One man walks out a double champion, the other walks out with nothing. And with that, here we go. Maximo tells Mattick tonight he makes him his bitch. Forearm exchange to start out. Atomic drop and enzuigiri by Mattick for a near fall. Maximo with jumping kick and a fist drop for near falls. Mattick with fireman’s carry neckbreaker and the Inner Loop (seated European uppercut) for near falls. Both men fight on top of the cage. Maximo knocks Mattick off and hits a top rope swanton for a near fall. Begins choking Mattick with his bandana. Mattick fought back, but Maximo cuts him off with a clothesline and hits a neckbreaker for a near fall. Maximo with one-legged dropkick and rolling neck snap for near falls. Goes for superkick, but Mattick blocks it hitting another atomic drop. Sends Maximo head first into each side of the steel cage busting Maximo wide open. Connects with driving boot and back senton for a near fall. Maximo hits superkick and an olympic slam for a near fall. Frustrtated with senior referee Richard Head’s count, Maximo superkicks Richard. Mattick hits kryptonite crunch on Maximo for what would be the three count but there’s no referee. Icon Ace and Chris Cayden come out to stop Mattick from climbing over the cage. Hellcat comes out to thrwart them off as Maximo misses Mattick inside and goes head first into the cage. Ace and Cayden attack Hellcat and send him into the cage. With Hellcat down Ace scales the cage to stop Mattick but Mattick slams him off and hits him with a cutter. Dan Severn comes out and grabs Cayden neutralizing him and they go back to the dressing room. Maximo catches Mattick with his package piledriver, rolls Ace out of the cage and tries to revive the ref to count the 3, but Mattick kicks out at 2. Hellcat recovers and chops Ace as he sends him to the back as well, leveling the playing field once again. Back inside, a bloody and frustrated Maximo goes to superkick the ref again but Richard Head catches the foot, spins Maximo around, kicks him and gives him a stunner! Mattick now back to his feet hits a Flower City Cutter but somehow Maximo kicks out at 2. Both men exchange forearms again, but Maximo gets the better of the exchange. Then hits another rolling kick and superkick for another near fall. Mattick comes back with a discus clothesline and a blue thunder bomb for a near fall. Maximo hits a jumping knee for another near fall. Maximo goes for his package piledriver but Mattick backdrops him. Mattick then hits his own package piledriver and another Flower City Cutter for the three-count. After the match, a proud ?#‎WrestleDad? handed his ?#‎WrestleSon? the UPW Heavyweight Title and hugged him in the middle of the ring. A reluctant and upset Maximo begrudgingly shakes Mattick’s hand. And after all that, the Young Lion of the West is your new UPW Heavyweight Champion and first man to ever hold both the UPW Heavyweight and No Limits Championships at the same time. Credit to Maximo Suave who held the UPW gold for over a year and despite some questionable tactics, he certainly staked his claim as one of the best champions in UPW history. But in the end, Mattick’s heart, passion and will to win overcame all odds and he made history. One has to wonder who can knock off the new double champion and where the former UPW champion goes from here?

Winner and NEW UPW Heavyweight Champion- "The Young Lion of The West" Mattick
