By David Tees on 9/7/2016 1:43 PM

There is a ton of MMA coming to us this weekend and one of the more interesting cards on the slate will be Resurrection Fighting Alliance 43. The event will be headlined by a bout for the vacant welterweight title as Brian Camozzi takes on Nick Barnes. Also, Adam Stroup takes on Gabriel Checco and a host of top MMA prospects will be stepping into the cage as well.

Main Card

Main Event

RFA Welterweight Title Decision Fight

Brian “The Mantis” Camozzi (6-2-0) vs. Nick “The Phoenix” Barnes (11-1-0)

Camozzi is currently undefeated under the RFA banner, with wins coming over both Tyler Milner and Kenneth Glenn. Barnes is also undefeated thus far in his RFA tenure, with his win coming over Jose Diaz by decision at RFA 38. Camozzi is the brother of UFC veteran Chris Camozzi and he has not suffered a defeat in well over two years. Barnes will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and that includes a win over UFC veteran James Terry. Camozzi has a great wrestling game that will give Barnes problems, but Barnes has the better submission game and he taps Camozzi in the fourth to win the title.

Co-Main Event

RFA Middleweight Division Fight

Adam Stroup (10-3-0) vs. Gabriel “Zangief” Checco (9-2-0)

Stroup is currently winless under the RFA banner, dropping a fight to John Poppie by unanimous decision at RFA 34. Checco has rotated wins and losses throughout his RFA run, with his last fight being a win over Mike Jasper at RFA 31. Stroup is a longtime veteran of the Sparta Combat League, where he earned a total of nine wins in his career. Checco has not competed in just about a year and he has not put a winning streak together in over two years. Checco is game enough too taking the fight the distance, but Stroup has a great ground game and he taps Checco in the second round.

RFA Bantamweight Division Fight

Boston “Boom Boom” Salmon (5-0-0) vs. Zac “The Anointed Warrior” Riley (4-3-0)

Salmon is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and he has spent his entire professional MMA career in the RFA. Riley is currently undefeated in RFA competition, which includes a win over UFC veteran Hugo Viana at RFA 34. Riley pulled off a huge upset when he defeated Viana in his last bout, but Salmon has a dominating striking game and he finishes Riley with strikes in the first.

RFA Featherweight Division Fight

Cory Sandhagen (3-0-0) vs. Clay Wimer (6-1-0)

Sandhagen is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, which includes a win over Andrew Tenneson at RFA 34. Wimer is currently undefeated in RFA competition, last defeating Sean Richman by second round TKO at RFA 32. Wimer has been destroying people on the feet and on the ground, Wimer taps Sandhagen early in the first round.

RFA Featherweight Division Fight

Josh Wick (5-2-0) vs. Jonathon Wyderko (2-0-0)

Wick is currently winless under the RFA banner, having dropped a bout to Dan Moret by decision at RFA 36. Wyderko will be making his RFA debut in this fight, having spent his entire pro career until this point in the Prize Fighting Championships. Wick has one of the better ground games in the RFA right now, Wick taps Wyderko in the opening round.

RFA Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Alonzo Menifield (1-0-0) vs. Brock Combs (2-1-0)

Menifield will be making his RFA debut in this fight, his lone fight as a pro came at Bellator 146 when he defeated Zach Rosol by TKO. Combs will also be making his RFA debut in this fight and he will be returning to action after a year-plus absence. These are two fighters who are returning to action after long breaks, but it will be Menifield getting the first round TKO win.

Terrence Almond over Adam Martinez

Peter Straub over Eric Grant

Sonny Yohn over Tyler Vogel

John Alford over Cody Yohn
