FINAL FIGHT CARD FOR ACB IN GLASGOW, SCOTLAND NEXT MONTH

By Mike Johnson on 9/21/2016 8:55 AM

Hi all,

Here is the final fight card for ACB 47 in Glasgow.

Lightweight Bout Announcement – 155lbs/70kgs
Saul ‘Tha Hangman’ Rogers vs. Michell ‘The Aligator’ Adelina

The ‘ACB 47: Braveheart’ card nears completion but not without the addition of this top lightweight contest containing one of the biggest rising stars in MMA - Saul ‘The Hangman’ Rogers.

The news broke earlier this month that Saul, one of the biggest free agents on the market, had signed a multi-fight deal with ACB and would be debuting for the promotion on their first event in the UK on October the 1st in Glasgow.
Saul’s addition to the fighter roster of ACB is a huge one and shows the level of talent ACB are looking to bring in and develop to further establish themselves as one of the top promotions in the world. All that is left to find out is who will be his first challenge under the ACB banner.

The fighter tasked with welcoming Saul is Michell ‘The Aligator’ Adelina. An exciting fighter from Curacao but who lives and trains at Kops Gym in the Netherlands has stepped up to the plate and will be looking to cause a big upset at the Hydro Arena by taking the scalp of ACB’s newest golden boy. Adelina has worked his way from the streets to making martial arts his life. A born fighter who says it’s the struggle that motivates him has made it clear that there will be no easy payday for Saul’s debut. Despite a mixed record of 8 and 7 Adelina has been a handful for all of his opponents and will be looking at this opportunity to fight on a big stage against a big name as one that could rejuvenate his career and put him back on track to regain the form that saw him reach a 5 fight win streak earlier in his career.

This will not be an easy scalp to take though as Rogers has proved at the highest level just what he is capable of and why his signature was so highly sort after by promotions around the world. Rogers is 11-1 in his pro-career and is currently riding a 5 fight win streak which includes the destruction of Ex-UFC start Andre Winner in his last bout, a fight in which he submitted winner in just 54 seconds. His submission and wrestling game have proved to be his trademark and have proved a style many fighters have struggled to cope with. With 7 submissions wins it may well be ‘The Alligator’ that will be looking to avoid being caught in the jaws of ‘Tha Hangman’ on fight night.

Featherweight Bout Announcement – 145lbs/66kgs
Daniel Crawford vs Alihan Suleimanov

Englishman Daniel Crawford receives his second assignment for ACB 47 after his first fight unfortunately fell through. ACB were keen to keep the exciting prospect on the card for October the 1st as Crawford has shown massive potential in his 8-fight career. A well rounded fighter who has a record of 7-1 and the ability to stop opponents on the feet or on the ground but all his skill and experience will be put to the test as he now faces one of the most dangerous young talents to come out of Russia in Alihan Suleimanov.

Suleimanov has been making a name for himself in the featherweight division out in Russia. With a 5-1 record he isn’t a fighter who believes in wasting anytime as none of his fights have ever gone past the 3 minute 30 second point. With all of his wins also coming by submission it’s no surprise that he has caught the eyes of the fans and of the ACB matchmakers.

This fight puts two fighters at an important point in their careers together and both will be looking to use the other as a stepping-stone in to the upper echelons of the division when they collide on October the 1st at the SSE Hydro for ACB 47.
