DALE GAGNE JOINS IWA

By Mike Johnson on 10/27/2016 11:00 AM

Rob Russen and Sal Corrente's International Wrestling Association is extremely pleased to announce that world renowned promoter and wrestling personality Dale Gagne has joined its staff effective immediately. Dale will serve as the IWA's Membership Coordinator and will also serve in a consulting capacity with the organization's special events and fund raising efforts with non profit organizations.

Gagne is perhaps best remembered as the President and owner of AWA Superstars Live, which promoted live professional wrestling events throughout North America for over a decade, often to crowds into the thousands. He is also a former member of the management staff of Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association, and was with the original AWA until just before it closed its doors in 1991. Dale actually worked along side IWA founder Rob Russen when they were both with the AWA. He went on to found and operate Wrestling Superstars Live, an extremely successful traveling wrestling promotion that saw action throughout most of the United States. His organization, at its height of success, boasted 48 active member territories world wide.

In a statement to IWA staff, Founder and President Rob Russen said “I am honored and proud that we can welcome Dale into the fold of the International Wrestling Association. We are working to build a network of territory promoters within the International Wrestling Association, and no one understands the concept of selecting, recruiting, and organizing member territories as well as Dale Gagne”.

Dewey J Welch, speaking on behalf of the IWA's parent company, Heir Apparent Entertainment, commented, “As someone who is fortunate enough to work in the entertainment and sports industry, I get to meet a lot of noteworthy people. Welcoming Dale Gagne on board is one of those moments when I know that I am in the presence of someone who understands the concept of professional wrestling. Not just understands it, but has proven that it works, time and time again. It is an honor and a privilege to share a place at the IWA table with Dale Gagne”. Mr. Welch is Heir Apparent's President of Entertainment Operations.

The International Wrestling Association has its roots stretching back to 1989, and has toured all of the United States, parts of Asia, and into Australia. It is a subsidiary of Heir Apparent Entertainment (HeirApparentEntertainment.com). For more information, please contact MediaRelations@IWAProWrestling.com .
