BANTAMWEIGHT REMATCH PITTING DARRION CALDWELL AGAINST JOE TAIMANGLO COMPLETES MAIN CARD ON SECOND NIGHT OF BELLATOR DOUBLEHEADER AT WINSTAR WORLD CASINO & RESORT

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (November 2, 2016) – A bantamweight rematch pitting Darrion Caldwell (9-1) against Joe Taimanglo (23-6-1) completes a stacked main card on the second night of a special Bellator MMA doubleheader inside WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, OK., on Saturday, December 3.

The second night of entertainment – “Bellator 167” – is headlined by a lightweight main event between Patricky “Pitbull” (22-7) and Derek Campos. In addition, undefeated budding superstar Ilima-Lei MacFarlane (4-0) will take on Emily Ducote (4-1) in a female flyweight clash, while Chidi Njokuani (15-4, 1 NC) and Andre Fialho (7-0) prepare to duke it out in a welterweight feature bout and Justin Lawrence (9-3) meets John Teixeira (20-1-2).

Meanwhile, a bantamweight world title rematch pitting current champion Eduardo Dantas (18-4) against Joe Warren (14-5) and a featherweight bout pitting undefeated prospect A.J. McKee (5-0) against Emmanuel Sanchez (13-3) will highlight the first night of fun at “Bellator 166.”

Tickets for the unique doubleheader event start at just $45 and can be purchased at the WinStar World Casino & Resort Box Office, as well as Ticketmaster and Bellator.com.

“Bellator 167: Pitbull vs. Campos 2” airs live and free on Saturday on SPIKE at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while “Bellator 166: Dantas vs. Warren 2” airs live and free on Friday on SPIKE at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. Preliminary bouts for both events will stream live on Bellator.com and The Bellator Mobile App.

After beginning his career on a nine-fight winning streak, Caldwell hit a 5-foot 4-inch speed bump by the name of Joe Taimanglo. Now the 28-year-old Rahway, New Jersey native looks to rebound in a highly anticipated rematch. With five of his nine wins coming by way of first round knockout or submission, Caldwell has proven to be one of the most feared strikers in the division. “The Wolf” has collected six wins since joining the Scott Coker-led promotion in 2014, highlighted by a notable first round finish over former multi-division champion and current title challenger Joe Warren. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches tall, Caldwell will once again hold a significant height advantage, as he prepares to use his length to overpower the much shorter Taimanglo inside WinStar World Casino & Resort.

“The Juggernaut,” also known as “Baby Joe” returns to the cage to once again challenge one of the top young talents the sport has to offer in Caldwell. Taimanglo got the best of the young submission specialist at “Bellator 159: Caldwell vs. Taimanglo” earlier this year, emerging victorious after catching his opponent with a guillotine choke submission that came just nine seconds into the third round of the evening’s main event. The win was Taimanglo’s fourth consecutive victory and 17th finish of his career. Dating back to 2009, the 32-year-old Guam native has recorded victories in 14 of his last 16 bouts, including nine by way of knockout or submission. An 8-fight veteran of Bellator MMA, Taimanglo will look to replicate the same success in a bantamweight rematch you do not want to miss LIVE and FREE on SPIKE.
