LIVE ON TELEMUNDO AND NBCSN ON SATURDAY, NOV. 11
 

CANCUN, MX – November 10, 2017 – The fighters stepped on the scale and faced off today, one day before “COPA COMBATE,” the historic event that will be headlined by a one-night, eight-man, bantamweight (135 pounds) tournament in which the winner will have to persevere through three bouts in a single night to take home a $100,000 grand prize, live on Telemundo and NBCSN at 11:30 p.m. ET/10:30 p.m. CT tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 11 from Cancun, Mexico.

Scheduled tournament entrant Andres “Doble A Leal” Ayala (12-4) from Bogota, Colombia was unable to make the contracted weight, and was thereby replaced in the tournament field with fellow Colombian Alejandro “Pitbull” Abomohor (5-4) of Barranquilla. 

Abomohor will square off with Ayala’s original quarterfinal stage opponent, Marc “Lufo” Gomez (20-10) of Barcelona, Spain.

Aggressive-minded contender Levy “El Negro” Marroquin (8-2) of Monterrey, Mexico will step in for Ricky “El Gallero” Palacios (9-1), who failed to make the contracted weight. 

Marroquin will battle countryman and Palacios’ original quarterfinal stage opponent, Carlos “Lobo” Rivera (10-2) from Mexico City.

The live Telemundo and NBCSN coverage of “COPA COMBATE” will include the entire semifinal stage of the eight-man tournament, as well as the championship stage showdown and the women’s strawweight (115 pounds) co-main event between undefeated knockout artist Melissa “Super Melly” Martinez (2-0) of Mexico City, Mexico, and submission expert and Miesha Tatepupil Gloria “Gloriosa” Bravo (4-2) of Santiago, Chile.

The entire quarterfinal stage of the tournament, as well as the two tournament alternate bouts and the women’s atomweight (105 pounds) preliminary matchup between world top 10-ranked Sheila Padilla (3-1) of Visalia, Calif. and hard-hitting Lisbeth “Bunny” Lopez Silva (4-3) of Mexico City will stream live on the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app and TelemundoDeportes.com, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.
