By Oliver Taylor on 11/23/2020 7:00 AM

Melbourne City Wrestling has announced it will hold its first show since the start of the COVID-19 global pandemic on February 6 next year.

The company’s last show, Clash of the Titans 2020, took place on February 1. Avary won the MCW Women’s Championship, Caveman Ugg won the MCW Intercommonwealth Championship, Mitch Waterman and Nick Bury made their third defense of the MCW Tag Team Championships and Adam Brooks made his second defense of the MCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Ring of Honor announced the signing of Brooks in February. He was set to wrestle Slex at ROH’s anniversary pay-per-view in Las Vegas on March 13 but the event was cancelled.

New Japan Pro Wrestling star Will Ospreay has made regular appearances for the promotion since 2017, most recently against Dowie James at Vendetta on January 11. Kazuchika Okada also made an appearance in November 2017 to wrestle Slex.

Other stars who have competed in MCW in the past include WWE’s Bronson Reed, Buddy Murphy, Dakota Kai and Indi Hartwell.

The company is considered the biggest in the state of Victoria. It regularly holds shows in the Thornbury Theatre.
