A featherweight division attraction has been added to the May 1 UFC card according to AG Fight as Herbert Burns faces Alex Munoz.
Burns (11-3-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Nate Landwehr and Evan Dunham. Burns competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 7, defeating Darrick Minner by first round submission. Burns is the brother of Gilbert Burns, who unsuccessfully challenged for the UFC Welterweight Title at UFC 258.
Munoz (6-1-0) is winless thus far in UFC competition, dropping a bout to Nasrat Haqparast at UFC Fight Night 174. Munoz competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Season 2, Episode 6, defeating Nick Newell by unanimous decision. Munoz has seen his last four fights go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish.
UFC Fight Night: Reyes vs. Prochazka takes place on Saturday, May 1 from a location to be announced with Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
