Former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje faces Rafael Fiziev this Saturday Night in the co-main event of UFC 286.
Gaethje is not only a former UFC champion, but the fighter also claims to be the most exciting fighter that has ever competed in the Octagon.
“I’m the most exciting fighter that has ever stepped in that octagon in the history of this sport,” Gaethje said during UFC 286 media day (transcript via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “Of course, I pride myself on that.”
The former interim champion is known for being one of the better finishers in the sport of MMA, with 19 of his 23 professional MMA wins coming by KO/TKO.
Another reason Gaethje claims to be the most exciting fighter to ever step into the Octagon is because the fans and media believe it as well.
“I don’t just believe it, you believe it,” Gaethje said. “You all believe it. You know it to be true. It’s not on purpose, it’s just who I am. That’s how I compete. I’m cut from this cloth.”
