Denys Bondar is off the January 13 UFC Fight Night card according to Nolan King, replacing him against Felipe Bunes is Joshua Van.
Bunes (13-6-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Bunes is a former LFA Flyweight Champion, but he relinquished the title upon signing with the UFC earlier this year. Bunes has earned 13 wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those have come by way of submission.
Van (9-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Zhalgas Zhumagulov and Kevin Borjas. Van hasn’t been defeated in over two years, with that last loss coming to Devon Jackson at Fury FC 55 in December of 2021. Van competed just twice in 2023, making 2023 his least active year as a professional MMA fighter.
UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker II is set for Saturday, January 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Waker headlining.
