AAA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE DEFENDED IN AUSTRALIA FOR THE FIRST TIME

OCEANIA Pro Wrestling (OPW) is excited to announce that for the first time ever, the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide Women's Championship, the AAA Reina de Reinas title, will be defended in Australia during Starrcast Downunder in Ballarat in April.

Current AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer will compete at Mickie James' trailblazing all-women's showcase event HER on April 12th at Selkirk Stadium. She will put her championship on the line against an opponent to be named later in a highly anticipated match and make history.

Flammer, a member of the ruda faction Las Toxicas, captured the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship in October 2023, becoming the 32nd ever holder of the prestigious title first introduced in 1999. Along with her reign as Reina de Reinas champion, Flammer is also current AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion with partner Abismo Negro.

With her electrifying high flying yet hard hitting lucha libre style, Flammer has built a devoted fanbase in Mexico and worldwide. Now Australian fans will witness her live and experience the historic title match on home soil.

The HER event featuring Flammer's historic AAA Reina de Reinas title defense will take place on April 12 at Selkirk Stadium in Ballarat. In addition to Flammer, the star-studded lineup includes Mickie James, Tenille Dashwood, Vix Crow (formerly known as Alicia Fox) competing, along with appearances by Lisa Marie Varon (formerly Victoria and Tara) and SoCal Val.

Flammer said: "I can't wait to defend my AAA Reina de Reinas Championship in Australia for the first time ever and make history. The fans in Australia are so passionate and knowledgeable and it will be an honor to bring lucha libre and my championship to Starrcast Downunder."

Cameron Vale, OPW Managing Director said: "We areabsolutely thrilled to host the first ever defence of the prestigious AAA Reina de Reinas Championship in Australia,"

"Flammer is one of the premier luchadoras in wrestling today, and her presence will bring the captivating style and rich tradition of lucha libre to Starrcast Downunder that fans will love.”

Starrcast Downunder is proudly presented by Visit Victoria.
