The event is presented by CELSIUS Live Fit Essential Energy, also sponsored by Event Ticket Center and Fansly. Opening the Paul vs. Chavez Jr. pay-per-view card is undefeated WBA International lightweight champion Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs), who will face former IBF super featherweight world champion Tevin Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight battle at 135 lbs. The main card will also feature MVP’s latest signee, undefeated powerhouse Avious “Tha Underdog” Griffin (17-0, 16 KOs), who will make his promotional debut against New Jersey’s welterweight standout Julian “Hammer Hands” Rodriguez (23-1, 14 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight showdown at 147lbs.  Also joining the main card will be a 10-round welterweight battle at 147 lbs between undefeated Mexican welterweight standout Raul “Cugar” Curiel (15-0-1, 13 KOs) and Uruguay’s fellow undefeated sensation Victor Ezequiel “Latigo” Rodriguez (16-0-1, 9 KOs). Joining the preliminary card is MVP’s 20-year-old WBC Youth light flyweight world champion Naomy Valle (14-0, 9 KOs) vs. Mexico’s 20-year-old Ashley Felix (7-3, 1 KO) in a 6-round light flyweight bout at 108lbs. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster

Undefeated and currently holding the WBA International lightweight title, Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) is quickly making a name for himself in the boxing world. Schofield made a statement in his professional debut in October 2020, knocking out Richard Esquibel in the first round. Most recently, Schofield secured a unanimous decision victory over Rene Tellez Giron in the main event at The Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, further solidifying his status as one of boxing’s top young talents. Out of the ring, Schofield’s journey is equally remarkable, as he and his father were once unhoused and spent months living in a shelter. This experience sparked Schofield’s deep commitment to helping disadvantaged individuals through community work. With his determination to the sport, “Kid Austin” is ready to prove he belongs at the top of the lightweight division, and is poised for greatness both inside and outside of the ropes.

“First of all, I want to thank Golden Boy, MVP and DAZN for the opportunity to comeback on this stacked card,” said Floyd Schofield Jr. “Sharing the ring with former world champ Tevin Farmer is a huge opportunity for me to silence those who doubt me and my skills, and I know that I will come out with the win.”

No stranger to the limelight, former IBF Super Featherweight World Champion Tevin Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) is comfortable fighting on a big stage. With a slick, defensive style and southpaw stance, Farmer has accomplished everything in the sport of boxing, including winning the IBF world super featherweight championship and successfully defending it four times. In July 2024, he suffered a razor-thin loss against Raymond Muratalla. Additionally, he gave a brilliant performance against William Zepeda in November 2024, giving Zepeda a tough fight. Despite the valiant effort, he lost via split decision with scores of 94-95, 95-94, and 94-95. In their scheduled rematch in Cancun, Mexico, in March 2025, Farmer showed up and gave Zepeda a tough time, however, he fell short in the judge's eyes with a majority decision loss with scores of 112-116. 113-115, and 114-114.

“Kid Austin’s about to learn—my skills are different than anything he's ever seen,” said Tevin Farmer. “I’m knocking him out to teach him a lesson.”

Raul “Cugar” Curiel (15-0-1, 13 KOs) was born in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and began his impressive amateur trajectory at the age of 15. His home was known as the “boxing house,” with Curiel’s brother, a retired boxer, and his father, a well-known trainer who also began boxing at age 15. Nicknamed “The Cougar,” Curiel made his way to the international boxing scene, securing some of the most prized distinctions, including gold in the AIBA World Championships in 2012, a gold medal in the 2013 Olympic Cup Championships in Puerto Rico, and gold in Washington, D.C’s Golden Gloves Tournament in 2013. Curiel’s outstanding performance in the 2015 World Series of Boxing secured his spot on Mexico’s 2016 Olympic team, where he competed in the men’s light welterweight division in Rio de Janeiro. In February 2017, Curiel signed a managerial contract with Frank Espinoza and signed a promotional contract with Golden Boy. Since then, Curiel has begun to develop an impressive professional record, remaining undefeated in 15 fights and winning 13 of them by knockout. He was last seen in a non-stop, twelve-round slugfest against Alexis Rocha that ended in a majority draw in December 2024. Curiel’s performance in that fight elevated him into the top ranks, where he is currently ranked No. 4 by the WBC, No. 11 by the IBF, No. 14 by the WBO, and No. 10 by Ring Magazine. With his eyes set on a world title in the future, “The Cougar” is a threat to anyone in the welterweight division.

“I feel very happy to be a part of this huge fight card, I know millions of people will be tuning in to watch and I am training and preparing to give a tremendous show,” said Raul Curiel. “I will be looking for a knockout, and soon after an opportunity to become world champion. I want to thank Golden Boy, MVP and DAZN for this opportunity, I promise I will not disappoint!”

Ranked as Box Rec’s #1 Uruguayan welterweight fighter, undefeated sensation Victor Ezequiel “Latigo” Rodriguez (16-0-1, 9 KOs) will look to make a statement for his country on June 28th. Born and raised in Maldonado, Uruguay, Rodriguez has proved to be a force to be reckoned with since his professional debut in January 2020. Since then, Rodriguez has demonstrated a blend of technical precision and relentless aggression, capturing the WBA Fedelatin belt with a majority decision victory over Jose Hugo Acevedo in January 2024, a decisive follow-up to their hard-fought draw in October 2023. Most recently, Rodriguez has had three back-to-back TKO wins against Agustin Cardozo in May 2024, Sergio Donaire in November 2024, and Alberto Mosquera in March 2025. Rodríguez is quickly becoming a top contender in the South American boxing scene and is poised to make a name for himself on the global stage on June 28th.

“Thank you to Sampson Lewkowicz, my promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, MVP, and the WBA for giving me this incredible opportunity to be two victories away from my dream of becoming Uruguay’s first male world boxing champion,” said Victor Rodriguez. “This elimination fight will be the closest any man from my country has come to becoming champion in decades and I must win this fight against Raul Curiel for my people. Although he is a very good fighter, I will be training in the US to make sure I’m in incredible shape and ready to make history for my country on fight night.”

MVP’s Avious Griffin (17-0, 16 KOs) has quickly emerged as a force in the 147lb division, boasting an unblemished 17-0 record with 16 knockouts. With a relentless style and staggering 94% stoppage rate, the Las Vegas-based fighter originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, continues to prove why he's one of the most dangerous and exciting welterweights in the sport today. Since early 2024, Griffin has trained under the esteemed Brian “BoMac” McIntyre, widely recognized for guiding Terence Crawford’s rise to championship status. He also works closely with Esau Diéguez and renowned strength and conditioning coach Larry Wade, who joined his team in October 2023. Together, this elite team has helped transform Griffin into one of the sport’s most dangerous and disciplined rising contenders. On February 20, 2025, Griffin captured the vacant WBC USA Welterweight Title by stopping Jose Luis Sanchez in the eighth round at Sony Hall in New York City. Griffin’s rise has been shaped by extraordinary personal resilience. Introduced to boxing at age eight by his father, Alvin, the sport quickly became both a passion and a powerful bond between them. In 2016, just weeks before Griffin’s professional debut, Alvin passed away unexpectedly from a brain hemorrhage as Avious frantically rushed his dad to the hospital—a devastating loss that Griffin continues to honor through his career. The following year brought another life-altering setback: a wrongful murder conviction that led to 11 months of incarceration before his exoneration. These hardships forged Griffin’s “TTD” (To The Death) mentality—an ethos that powers his performance in the ring and his commitment to breaking generational cycles of poverty, while advocating for mental health and addiction recovery. With a compelling personal story and elite performance inside the ropes, Avious Griffin represents one of the most promising new faces in professional boxing.

“On Saturday, June 28, I’m facing a good name and good opponent, but it’s just my time to shine,” said Avious Griffin. “I’ve got the best coaches in boxing who will have me ready for whatever is presented on fight night. I’ve got the heart of a lion and I’m willing to die ‘bout my respect… Tha Underdog will see y’all soon.”

Julian "Hammer Hands" Rodriguez (23-1, 14 KOs) is a rising star in the 147lb welterweight division, renowned for his explosive power. Born in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, the 30-year-old began his boxing journey at the age of 8, inspired by his stepfather, a lifelong boxing enthusiast. Rodriguez quickly distinguished himself in the amateur ranks, amassing multiple national titles, including the 2012 National Golden Gloves and the 2013 USA Boxing National Championship, fighting over 200 amateur bouts and amassing a 210-8 amateur record, notably including knocking down and twice defeating Gervonta Davis and becoming an alternate for the 2012 Olympics. Rodriguez turned professional in 2013, debuting with a resounding first-round knockout over Calvin Smith. His aggressive style and devastating punching power earned him the nickname “Hammer Hands”, a fitting tribute to his ability to end fights decisively. Since then, he has built an impressive resume, with 22 dominant performances fighting for many years under Top Rank and his single defeat at the hand of champion Jose Pedraza. Rodriguez fought at the end of September 2024 in Atlantic City where he scored a dominant unanimous decision victory over Quashawn Toler. Currently ranked as one of the top 20 welterweights in the USA by BoxRec, Rodriguez trains under Bek Toichuev. As he gears up for his next challenge, Rodriguez is eager to showcase his skills on a global stage.

“I am looking forward to fighting on an MVP event and showing the world what I’m all about,” said Julian Rodriguez. “Avious Griffin has a bright future in front of him, but he has never fought anyone like me. My prediction for the fight is that he won’t be undefeated after I’m done with him.”

MVP’s 20-year-old undefeated light flyweight Naomy Valle (14-0, 9 KOs) has established herself as one of boxing’s brightest prospects. The Costa Rican talent has not only excelled in the ring but also shown her versatility in other areas. In her most recent fight in March 2025, Valle maintained her unbeaten streak and earned her first title honors, becoming the WBC Youth world champion at 108 pounds after defeating Mexican fighter Yelmi Sánchez. Outside the ring, she made history by winning the first season of popular dance show Mira Quién Baila Costa Rica on Teletica, securing 34.91% of the public vote. With her victory, she donated the $15,000 prize to the National Children’s Hospital, Fundación para el Desarrollo del Hospital Nacional de Niños. Beyond that, she is also studying aviation and recently completed her first official flight with pilot Alessandro Serrano from Aero Formación. During her preparation for the fight that earned her the WBC world title, she balanced boxing training with theoretical studies and flight simulations, demonstrating her dedication in both fields.

“I’ve spent years preparing for this moment,” said Naomy Valle. “Making my MVP debut in California under Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian’s MVP isn’t just a step in my career; it’s a statement: Latina fighters are coming with hunger, discipline, and fearlessness to shine on the biggest stage.”

With a decade of experience and explosive technical skill, 20-year-old Mexican powerhouse, Ashley Felix (7-3, 1 KO), is poised to give Valle one of her toughest tests in the ring yet. Born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, Felix began boxing at the age of 10 after being inspired by her father to get into the sport. After a 36-fight amateur career, she began her professional career in May 2023. Most recently, Felix faced Abril Sanchez Torres in February 2025, where she won by unanimous decision after an 8-round battle. Dubbed "Dinamita Felix” by her parents, she enters the ring ready to showcase her relentless dedication and tenacity that have defined her career from the start.

“I’m excited to showcase my full potential on a major card against a strong opponent,” said Ashley Felix. “I’m confident it’s going to be a great fight because I’m preparing with an excellent camp alongside my coaches Geovanny and Kevin. We’re fully focused, and we’re going for that victory.”

“We built Most Valuable Promotions to give rising stars the platform they deserve, and Saturday, June 28, is a perfect example of that mission in action,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “MVP’s Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. event is stacked with future champions, and we’re especially excited for Avious Griffin and Naomy Valle to make their highly anticipated MVP debuts on this global event. They’ll join Floyd Schofield, who will command the attention of the boxing world with his return and rising Mexican standout Raul Curiel. This DAZN pay-per-view is going to be non-stop action; do not miss it.”

Topping MVP’s five-fight pay-per-view card on DAZN will be Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) vs. Mexico’s former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs) as they face off in a 10-round blockbuster main event at 200lbs on Saturday, June 28. The co-main event will feature a 12-round unified cruiserweight championship bout between Golden Boy’s Mexican WBO & WBA unified cruiserweight champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs) vs. Cuba’s former IBF & WBA cruiserweight world champion and WBA mandatory challenger Yuniel Dorticós (27-2, 25 KOs). Also on the card, former UFC bantamweight champion and Boxrec’s #2 greatest pound-for-pound fighter of all time, Holly “The Preacher's Daughter” Holm (33-2-3, 9 KOs) will make her long-awaited return to the ring to face Mexico’s undefeated rising prospect Yolanda “Pitayita” Vega  (10-0, 1 KO) in a 10-round lightweight bout contested over two-minute rounds. Holm and Vega each signed with MVP in May 2025 ahead of their fight announcement and faceoff at the Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. preview press conference.
