A bantamweight division attraction has been added to the August 9 UFC Fight Night card according to Garrett Kerman (via Kevin K) as Elijah Smith faces Toshiomi Kazama.
Smith (8-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Vince Morales by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 251. Smith also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Aaron Tau by unanimous decision. Smith has earned eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by KO/TKO.
Kazama (11-4-0) has won just one of three in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Charalampos Grigoriu at UFC On ESPN 61. Kazama is competing for the first time in a year, as his last bout happened in August of 2024. Kazama has earned 11 wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday, August 9 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Roman Dolidze and Anthony Hernandez headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
