A featherweight division clash will headline the upcoming Noche UFC card as #2 Diego Lopes faces #11 Jean Silva.
The UFC announced the news through their social media channels.
Lopes (26-7-0) is competing for the first time since losing a UFC Featherweight Title bout to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 314. Lopes had won five straight before the loss, with notable wins coming over Sodiq Yusuff, Dan Ige and Brian Ortega. Lopes had competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, losing to Joanderson Brito by technical decision.
Silva (16-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, defeating Westin Wilson, Charles Jourdain, Drew Dober, Melsik Baghdasaryan and Bryce Mitchell. Silva has been beaten in over seven years, with his last loss coming to Gabriel Schlupp in April of 2018. Silva will be headlining his first UFC card, having been with the promotion for just over a year now.
Noche UFC takes place on Saturday, September 13 from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas with Diego Lopes and Jean Silva headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
