TWA founder and professional wrestling visionary Joel Goodhart—whose roots run deep with ECWA—has officially joined forces with the promotion for several exciting new projects. These include the upcoming release of One and Done, a treasure trove of archival footage and never-before-seen events, and a highly anticipated documentary chronicling the history of TWA. Fans can also look forward to seeing Goodhart back in action as he returns to the ring as a special guest announcer at select events this year.
A powerful chapter in independent wrestling history is being reopened.
The East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) is proud to announce that the legendary Tri-State Wrestling Alliance (TWA) is joining the ECWA family in a historic union that will celebrate, preserve, and reintroduce one of the most influential promotions in East Coast professional wrestling history.
As part of this union, fans will soon have access to never-before-seen TWA footage—including rare matches, behind-the-scenes moments, and full events that have remained in vaults for decades.
“The TWA wasn’t just a promotion—it was a movement,” said ECWA President Cheyenne Ortiz. “Its influence is still felt today, and we’re honored to help bring that story back to the forefront.” Ortiz attended TWA’s farewell event “One and Done” last month.
With this merger, ECWA proudly steps into the role of official archivists for the TWA’s historic video library. We are committed to carefully restoring, preserving, and presenting this footage to ensure that an entirely new generation of fans, wrestlers, and historians can experience the roots of the East Coast revolution.
The legacy of TWA deserves to live on—not just in memory, but in motion—and we’re making sure it does.
In a truly special moment, Joel Goodhart—the founder of the TWA, who got his start as a ring announcer—will return to ECWA on September 13 and November 8th in Marlboro, NJ, joining ECWA as the guest ring announcer for the evening.
ECWA Ring Announcer Derrick Lewis said “For the next two shows I won’t be in attendance due to contractual obligations inside and outside of pro wrestling but don’t worry, Joel Goodhart will do a fantastic job in my absence as he has done in the past for historic promotions such as the NWA.”
This will be Goodhart’s first time behind the mic in decades, and it promises to be a powerful, full-circle moment for one of wrestling’s most influential behind-the-scenes figures. Goodhart was inducted into the ECWA Hall of Fame just a few years ago.
Joel will also have copies of his recently released book “We Wrestled, We Brawled, We Started It All,” that he wrote with Scott Teal.
